Profoundly Inspirational

This is such a great book for all of us who are facilitators, therapists and coaches who want to both deepen your ability to be effective as well as avoid burn out! Instead of giving sterile formulas of 'how to be a better facilitator or therapist' the book guides you to explore your own unique nature and the hidden gifts of your own natural, organic style. I saw a client right after listening to a section of the book and I came out of the session feeling refreshed and fulfilled rather than tired and drained, even when dealing with trauma and loss. I highly recommend this book!

Totally affirming of my unique facilitator style!!

This book came to me at a very synchronistic moment in my career. I have been facilitating groups for 15 years, initially as a corporate trainer and in the past few years in the healing and growth context. I haven't even finished the whole book but already the main message that is landing for me happens to resonate with the main message of my work - radical self acceptance. This book is affirming that just as I help people love and accept themselves exactly as they are, I can love and accept my facilitation exactly as it is, not that there's not room for growth and learning but that my real gift is already there and is absolutely connected to my own precious uniqueness. The questions that this book asks have helped see myself and my unique gifts more clearly and to value that my quirks (or cracks) are what people most love about me. Even the way I have been listening to this book lines up with my unique facilitator style - I just jumped to the chapters that spoke to me intuitively and I look forward to all the other gems I will receive from the other chapters I haven't heard yet. Perfect timing, thank you for your work!!

Therapist Self-Help Book

I got this book because I'm interested in facilitation styles, but it did not really shed much light on that topic despite the title. It's more about self-discovery for a therapist who might be struggling with a personal challenge or issue that is holding them back. If that is you, then this book could be useful. If you are a teacher or coach who is looking for a diversity of opinion, then there are probably better choices.
