About this listen
Summoned by the news of her dying father, Isabel Delilah Jones escapes from New York City, broken-hearted and disillusioned, back to her small Mississippi town. She is welcomed smack dab into a bizarre inheritance, a complex war for her affection between two former best friends, a dire haunting from an unknown child, and a deadly mystery that only she can solve. Yonder is the perfect Southern treat for fans of tangled romance, spooky mysteries, and down home cooking. Taking place in the 1940s on the cusp of World War II, Yonder promises a lovely glimpse of an era that was all too short.

Exceptionally Engaging Story Very Well Told
This is a small town Southern love story with lots of twists, including the ghosts. The tale is very well written with characters that totally engaged me. The plot was well thought out with plenty of surprises. The setting has just the right mood. The story was very well acted with interesting and consistent differentiation of character voices. Overall this is one of the best books I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.

One of my favorite
I have a full review my thoughts on this books on Amazon and goodreads. But this is better than I expected. LeeAnne really brought Isabelle and all the characters to life with her voice. I enjoyed listening to this book on my train rides. The humor in her voice as I sat on the subway had me smirking a great deal of time. I cannot recommend this book enough to everyone. Whether you buy the kindle version or the audio version, it's a great story! ❤️❤️👍🏻

Haunted...
I've still got goosebumps and the hair on my neck is standing at attention .... WOW! Talk about being haunted!
This book has it all - haunting, murder, mysteries a-plenty, twisted romances, an evil father, a crazy mother, a little boy lost, really amazing characters and a well-told story.
This is the kind of book that will keep you reading or listening and eager to find out what will happen in the end.
I loved everything about it including the narration of the audiobook. Not only does LeeAnne do a splendid job as an author, she also seems to have just the right kind of control over her voice as a narrator as she easily changes it and the accents according to the various characters and brings them to life.
A story well worth reading or listening to!
I voluntarily listened to a free copy of the audiobook which I requested and received from the author and the above is my unbiased review.

A good listen
I drive a lot for my job. Maybe 20 hours a week, so I DEVOUR audiobooks. This one was definitely worth the listen. Narration was great, audio quality is great, and story line kept my interest all the way through and I am looking forward to the next installment. Plus it always adds something when the author does the narration in my opinion. That's what surprised me about the audio and narration quality. You don't always get that too when the author narrates. That is what bumped it all up to five stars for me. :-)

Hauntingly suspenseful
This book has a wonderful balance of humor, drama, suspense, love, and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Isabelle Jones is a wonderful firecracker of a woman who is tough and beyond her time. The book kept you guessing until the end and even then leaves some questions unanswered. I could not stop listening and found new surprises throughout the book. LeeAnne Hansen’s narration is expressive and I love her singing the songs in the book. This is a must read/listen to.

Classic charming Southern Style Haunting!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is a great little mystery of a Southern Style haunting. Great ghost story narrated to perfection by the author. I would absolutely recommend this to friends.
Any additional comments?
Narrated by LeeAnne Hansen
Yonder is a true classic ghost story in a delicious southern style. While not everyone may be familiar with the customs that were so common in the South surrounding the death of a family member, LeeAnne has captured all the small details that I remember. Covering mirrors stopping clocks, the courtesy of visiting of those who were close for support of the bereaved are all blended into the fabric of this story.
The characters are full and rich. The prodigal daughter who fled the stringent demands of filling her role in a prominent family for a career in New York and returns home as her father’s health fails. Back in her childhood home, old hurts resurface. Her teenage crush is there, but also the man who secretly longed for her both vie for her attention.
The haunting begins as soon as she returns home. The ghost young boy of 10 or 11 reaches out terrifies her in the study. Memories of her deceased mother come flooding back. The ghost becomes more and more persistent and tries to drag the living into the world of the dead trapped between two worlds.
Old loves, affairs, tragic deaths from the past, lost dreams and aspirations all surface and are revealed through the many visitors that come to call as the preparations for her father’s funeral begin. The mystery deepens and keeps you guessing what happened to bring all these things about and what will happen next.
This is a classic Southern style ghost story. Well done and keeps you wanting to listen straight through.
Wonderfully narrated by the author! I look forward to hearing more tales.

Wonderful & Captivating!
Would you listen to Yonder again? Why?
Of course - I loved the feeling of "being there" and always wanted to know what was coming next.
What did you like best about this story?
It took me to a time and place that I could imagine well and I enjoyed listening to every word, wondering what was going to happen next. What could be better than romance, mystery AND some ghostly haunting!
What about LeeAnne Hansen’s performance did you like?
LeeAnne made it quite clear which character's were speaking and her use of a southern accent brought realism to the story. Her voice is pleasant and she speaks clearly and at a good pace so that every word is well understood.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Southern charm with a mix of romance and ghostly adventures.
Any additional comments?
A wonderful experience for my first audio book! LeeAnn's performance made it so I couldn't stop listening - what a pleasure to listen to.
