Publisher's summary

The winter of 1886-1887 is severe, devastating the cattle industry, and the McCabe Ranch is no exception. With most of the herd gone, and bankruptcy hanging over their heads, the family has to decide what direction their future might line in. Meanwhile, Dusty must deal with the return of the outlaw who raised him—Sam Patterson.

Growing with the times

The book is a great example of not letting changes hold you back. We could all learn to do that.

so tired of hearing about coffee.

I counted on 12 minute chapter. spent 4 minutes 12 times talking again about coffee. this is unnecessary used to fill chapters the sign of a incompetent writer. next clothes, and holsters. I don't have stats but I'm guessing 1/4 of this book is filled with the above and unnecessary. I'm glad I did not pay for any of these books. story line is ok. reminds me of a bad attempt to be Louis L'Amour
