About this listen

Lillian is devastated. Her goal of owning an apothecary in Wylder, Wyoming is dashed. Her family has promised her in wedlock by proxy, and she hopes her spouse is a reasonable man. Can they forge a compromise about the shop, as well as their marriage?

Hank's hopes aren't high when it comes to his sight-unseen bride. Heck, he'd settle for a good cook and a warm body. However, Lillian is a lady and skittish as a wild filly - determined to take things slow. She proves her point by sleeping in the guest room.

Just as Lillian begins to fall in love, and yearns to become a true wife, Hank is shot. With potions handed down by her ghostly Gammy, she works to keep him alive. Will death come calling, or will Hank live to share the last unclaimed piece of property on their homestead...his bed?

An arranged marriage on the frontier

I’m diving into the land of Wylder, Wyoming. A fictional town set in the 1870’s in the Wyoming Territory. It’s the wild west, to be sure. Being a child of modern conveniences, I can’t image life that primitive. Hank can, though. He lives on the land and loves the land and is hoping that by adding a wife he’ll gain someone special to share his life. He’s respectful of his new bride’s reticence to share a bed, and even supportive of her as she tries to make her dreams come true.

When he gets shot, things go sideways and it looks like all might be lost. But Lillian knows a few things about herbs and potions and is able to use those very handy skills. So a happy ending after all.

I will mention Dawson McBride, the narrator. I’m a fan of his and was thrilled to see him narrating this series. I like that they’ve picked one person to do all the stories. It works. Off to the next one…

She came for a job & found Wylder Magic!

Lillian Jamison is about to arrive in Wylder, Wyoming to realize that she was sent there as a mail order bride. She thought she was coming to be working at an apothecary. Hank Logan is anxious to meet his mail order bride but isn’t holding out much hope. Lillian and Hank take things slow until family comes to visit. They begin a real relationship physically. As their feelings grow and danger comes around to put their newfound love in jeopardy. Will Lillian be able to save Hank? Can they survive the danger that surrounds them? What happens when these two find Wylder’s Magic?

Wylder’s Magic is the fifth book in the Wylder, Wyoming series. This series brings together authors from the Wild Rose Press family to write a Multi-author series. This series revolves around the citizens in the booming western town that has growing pains. Wylder, Wyoming. The first four books bring new people to town and brings them together with the local citizens. These western historical romances will take you to 1878 Wyoming where these characters face danger, passion, the weather conditions, wild horses and their pasts to try and find true love. These stories can be read as a stand-alone book. So, welcome to Wylder, Wyoming where anything may happen, and love abounds. I very much enjoyed these stories. Take a trip to Wylder, Wyoming to fall in love with these wonderful characters and a unique town in the wild west. I’m anxiously awaiting my return to Wylder, Wyoming and finding the next group of citizens and maybe newcomers to fall in love with and who will be next to find true love.

Lillian and Hank!

There is so much to love about this series, I can't praise it enough! This story is right up my alley, reminding of the days of watching Jane Seymour as Dr. Quinn Medicine woman! We meet Lillian. Strong and confident, her family puts her on a train For Wylder,Wyoming. Little does she know her dream of owning the local drugstore there would be dashed before she arrives. Her parents have married her by proxy to Hank! Now not only does she have to acclimate to a new town and hopefully bring her gift of healing there, but she has to learn to be a wife! Hank is looking forward to his new wife. Having a willing woman with him to keep house and him will be a change to enjoy. Determined to take things slow, he lets her set the pace. But just as things heat up, circumstances change! Will these two find their way to happily ever after? I love these two! The banter, the bickering about going in the forest,..all with good intentions. Lillian is such a strong willed woman. She has a mission, and with the help of her Ghammy, she will prevail. Hank is pretty patient, I have to say. And I love how his feelings change. This is a true love story of two people who truly see each other and accept who they are. It's a wonderful addition to the series.

Dawson McBride is a pleasure to have in my ears, and I love him bringing us this series. His voice flows so easy, it's like coming home. He understands his characters, and it comes through with each voice he chooses, adding those inflections in to make the emotional impact real. Love him and can't wait for the next one!

Magic at its Best

Another Wylder tale like the westerns that I grew up on. Sherrie Lea Morgan has written a tale containing dangers, a prearranged marriage, healing practices, and love in the old west. Lillian is a strong and determined young woman, but unsure of her sight unseen marriage to Hank. Hank is strong, independent, compassionate, patient, and loving. I enjoyed the banter, between the characters as their love develops. Poor Hank has to on several occasions rescue Lillian due to her lack of knowledge of western dangers. Soon her knowledge of healing herbs will be put to the test. Dawson McBride has the absolute best voice for narrating a western. He gives the characters their own voices including a deep sexy one for Hank. I love listening to Dawson. I highly recommend this Audible book for your listening pleasure.
