About this listen

Sometimes the desire to explore can just get the better of you. That is what happened to Wyld when his family were sent to a remote valley to study the newly bred prehistoric mammals. Those prehistoric creatures weren't the dinosaur kind either but the mammoth and sabre tooth tiger types.

Of course Wyld didn't believe there were creatures like that out there, so while his parents were in another stuffy meeting he thought that he would just take a "little look" outside. That little look resulted in him to discover a fluff-ball of a creature and the pair of them ended up on a Wyld adventure that they could never have imagined.

Sabre tooth tigers and wolves and mammoths, oh my!

I was provided this free review copy audio book by the author or narrator." This review is for the audio copy of: Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure by Michelle Dry and narrated by David Newbrook. This was a really good pre-teen book. I enjoy listening to this genre with my grandchildren. This one started out quickly and we soon became wrapped up in it. It has a good story line that is unpredictable. I liked the way it was laid out and the progression. The Narrator did a great job of reading it. His inflection, cadence, and timbre made it easy to listen to. It took a bit to get my ear adjusted to his Scottish accent but after a bit was talking with a bit of a burr meself…I recommend this book and narrator.

Great SciFi Book!

Wyld and his sister join their parents on location at their new 6 month job to study mammoths. Their accommodation is a cave in the wilderness. After much boredom, Wyld decides to sneak out and see what exactly is going on and to see if there really are mammoths out there.

The mystery and adventure that follows takes very unexpected twists and turns which will keep you listening. The narrator is great and really adds to the character. He has an accent which may be Scottish or British.. Maybe listen to the sample to see if you have trouble understanding him before you buy the book. I was gifted a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review,

Really good, my son and I both enjoyed it

Honestly this author never disappoints - she's great! Her work is diverse and enjoyable to read and this book is certainly no exception. Good character development, interesting (and unique) plot, and a well written ending. The narrator did a great job bringing these characters to life and we enjoyed his accent throughout the journey. A Boy Named Wyld & a Mammoth-sized Adventure

For every child with an imagination, there's an adventure waiting to come to life. In Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure, Michelle Dry brings the adventure to life for a boy named Wyld and his Science-loving family. Okay, so the kids don't seem too thrilled to be caught up in their parents' new job posting. When they find themselves living in a cave in the wilderness... literally, with no answers forthcoming from their parents, Wyld decides to sneak out into the night, alone. What he finds there is mammoth... a small mammoth. But soon things get hairy. And, that is when the adventure grows beyond Wyld's imagination.

A story for wildlife loving preteens, this book has twists and turns that defy everything you thought was happening. So, be prepared for a changing plot. I requested and received a free review copy of the Audible version, narrated by the youngish sounding David Newbrook. His breathy whispered voice lends the tone of the main character, as if you are hearing the story straight from Wyld himself. I recommend this book for older pre-teens.

The narrator ruined this.

I was looking forward to this book. But I was disappointed in the narration. I just could not understand what he said. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
