The vast majority of writers begin the storytelling process with only a partial understanding of where to begin. Some labor their entire lives without ever learning that successful stories are as dependent upon good engineering as they are artistry. But the truth is, unless you are master of the form, function, and criteria of successful storytelling, sitting down and pounding out a first draft without planning is an ineffective way to begin. For more than five years, Mark Rubinstein, physician, psychiatrist, and mystery and thriller writer, had the chance to ask the most well-known authors in the field just these kinds of questions in interviews for the Huffington Post. Collected here are interviews with 47 accomplished authors, including Michael Connelly, Ken Follett, Meg Gardiner, Dennis Lehane, Laura Lippman, and Don Winslow.

I learned a lot from this
this had a lot of really good, useful information for people who are thinking about writing a cozy mystery series. A lot of the things that were covered in this book were not initially on my mind when I considered beginning the path of writing a cozy mystery series. although the narrator is virtual AI, I think it did a good job. it sounded like a real person except in only certain circumstances like notating symbols or website addresses, but other than that it sounded like a real person. I am glad I put this book in my library because I will probably listen to it again.

Great Intro to Cozy Mysteries
This was a lovely guide to starting a cozy mystery! The chapters are straight to the point with lots of practical examples and even activities for you to do at the end. The AI narrator was fine, not too distracting. Definitely would recommend for authors looking to begin their mystery careers.
