Publisher's summary

The fourth in the Faithful and the Fallen series from John Gwynne, an epic fantasy perfect for fans of George R. R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson, and David Gemmell.

Events are coming to a climax in the Banished Lands, as the war reaches new heights. King Nathair has taken control of the fortress at Drassil and three of the Seven Treasures are in his possession. And together with Calidus and his ally Queen Rhin, Nathair will do anything to obtain the remaining Treasures. With all seven under his command, he can open a portal to the Otherworld. Then Asroth and his demon-horde will finally break into the Banished Lands and become flesh.

Meanwhile Corban has been taken prisoner by the Jotun, warrior giants who ride their enormous bears into battle. His warband scattered, Corban must make new allies if he hopes to survive. But can he bond with competing factions of warlike giants? Somehow he must, if he's to counter the threat Nathair represents.

His life hangs in the balance - and with it, the fate of the Banished Lands.

So much great writing and so much lazy writing

I loved a lot of things about this series.. but the tedious lazy writing when it came to the rivalries was just so lazy feeling and soooo convenient. Maddening. Could of been much better but it was still a very good series

Decent finish

It took until the final 6% of this series for the stakes to arrive. While this was a decent ending it still lacked the special qualities to make it great

A strong ending to a great saga!

Wrath is the very satisfying ending to my favorite saga since Joe Abercrombie’s The First Law. Gwynne is of the best writers in the genre today.

the story was okay

it started to get predictable with how much the author favors the villains. i just kept correctly guessing what would happen the more the story went on. i also didnt really like how shield held similar intelligence to storm in the first book i think but as the story went on shield just became an inanimate object not caring who rode him then outta nowehere coming back to being animate again. and elyon never showed up. no explanation for that. idk just ended up being an okay book the more it got predictable. or the author deciding to make characters braindead so they could die. like fidele.
