About this listen

It’s love. Trust me.

After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary - schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.

Kel, an Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is on vacay, but Ivy’s a spicy reason to give his short-term plans a second thought. Best of all, she’s a tonic for his untrusting heart, burned once and still in repair. But when Ivy’s past intrudes on a perfect romance, Kel fears that everything she’s told him has been a perfect lie. Now, if only Ivy’s willing to share, Kel will fight for a true love story.

Cute Holiday Treat

Another great read from Jill Shalvis. It was sweet and sexy with the spirit of Christmas wrapped up together. Erin Mallon did a great job narrating and giving us a great listen.

Great book, so-so narrator

The story was excellent (as usual with Jill Shalvis), but there was something about the narrator's voice that grated on my nerves a bit. T way she dragged out the last letter sound in a sentence, especially if it ended with an "R" sound. It's not a deal breaker like a whiny or nasal-sounding voice might have been, but she isn't a favorite.

Don't let that stop you from listening, though... the story is still worth it!

more danger than the previous addition to series

You have romance. You have people with a real life carved out in stone. You have people with a past that wants to take everything good that brings light and happiness. You have a group of friends that are the ride-or-die kind that will have you back and your front and even cover you side, if you let them. Ivy came around about a year ago and meet a group of friends and family that would do any and everything for each other. Kel just came to town for a visit and to take his mind of things happening back home but he too is still family. The spark that sizzles between the two when they meet for the first time on a cold morning over tacos was clear and almost as heated as that taco Kel bite in to.

We may have two people that have had or felt abandoned, used, lied to at some point and time in their past. These are heavy bags to carry from place to place throughout ones life. Its also a heavy burden to carry and expect or even just want someone else to help you out,if only to help ease the burden. These are some of the same things that clouds judgement and dilute trust. Kel and Ivy find that the past never stays hidden and when you are not wanting it. It comes back and changes the course of your world once again. Just when you feel as if things are beginning to lookup even just for a little while.

Jill Shalvis had done something that I have not seen from an author before. She opened the book with an apology. For what? I will let you find that out on you own, but I for one appreciate it. Things like what she sad does bug me and take my focus off the story I am working to enjoy. I appreciate her for this. Thank you. And I for one am happy that you made this change.

There are an awesome group of friends and family located in the Heartbreaker Bay series. These friends all find love and family in different ways but there's no mistaken that these people are that in deed, family.

Erin Mallon brings to life the character and give uniqueness to them all. Clean tone, pitch, and play. This was a wonderful addition to the Heartbreaker series.

Story A+ narrator C

I love Jill Shalvis books.
I had to rate this four stars not because of anything Ma Shalvis did but Avon let this book get slaughtered. I did an audiobook version.
Really Avon get your act together and get a good narrator. It was painful. The narrator holds the last syllable long and then drops a note at the end (sometimes up) and it gives a patronizing feel to every other sentence.
Note to self if I want to continue reading Shalvis books do it the old fashioned way and buy the book.
The story was good but do yourself a favor and enjoy these books in a non narrated way. You will thank me for it. This is an amazing author.

Holiday Heartwarmers: Savoring the Romance

"Wrapped Up in You" by Jill Shalvis is a heartwarming holiday romance that perfectly captures the essence of the season and the magic of unexpected love. This delightful read provided the ideal mood-setter for the holiday spirit, with its charming blend of warmth, humor, and romance.

The story of Ivy Snow, a woman with a past full of transience and uncertainty, is both relatable and inspiring. Her journey from constantly being on the move to establishing a stable life for herself in San Francisco is a testament to her resilience and strength. Ivy's character, with her mix of vulnerability and determination, makes her an engaging protagonist. Her success with her taco truck, a symbol of her newfound stability and independence, adds a unique and modern twist to the romance genre.

Kel O’Donnell, the Idaho sheriff and ranch owner, is the epitome of a dreamy romantic lead. His character is not just a stereotypical cowboy; he's multifaceted, with a backstory that adds depth to his charming persona. Kel's initial vacation plans in San Francisco taking a turn after meeting Ivy is a delightful plot twist that brings a refreshing dynamic to their romance. His mix of strength and sensitivity makes him the perfect match for Ivy's guarded heart.

The chemistry between Ivy and Kel is tangible and develops beautifully throughout the story. Shalvis excels in crafting dialogues and scenes that are both sweet and sizzling, keeping the readers hooked on their evolving relationship. The way their romance unfolds, with gentle nudges and understanding, adds a layer of realism and relatability to their story.

However, the true beauty of this book lies in how it deals with themes of trust, healing, and opening up to new possibilities. Ivy's struggles with her past and her hesitance to let Kel into her life fully are portrayed with a delicate balance of emotion and realism. Kel's patience and willingness to understand and support Ivy highlight the novel's deeper message about love and trust.

The holiday setting of the book adds an extra layer of coziness and charm to the story. The festive atmosphere, combined with the romantic storyline, makes "Wrapped Up in You" the perfect read for those who love their romance novels with a good dose of holiday spirit.

In conclusion, "Wrapped Up in You" is a delightful, feel-good romance that encapsulates the warmth and magic of the holiday season. Jill Shalvis has created a world that is both enchanting and grounded, filled with characters that are endearing and real. This book is a wonderful addition to any holiday reading list, promising to wrap readers up in a story of love, healing, and new beginnings.
