About this listen

When Alicia moves back to Pine Valley to help her mom through a serious addiction, the last person she wants to see is her teenage crush, Jeff Finch, who destroyed their friendship in one single disastrous night.

Alicia is determined to not let anything about Jeff affect her, especially since she hasn't seen him in 10 years. All she knows is that he's living a successful and charmed life, and she is more than happy to keep anything between them in the past.

But when he shows up with a date at the restaurant where she works, Alicia realizes she's still not over her feelings, and Jeff is definitely looking at her in a way he never has before.

It was really nice and sweet, and always refreshing to be able to enjoy a book without all those unnecessary sex scenes. I also liked how Alicia's mother's condition was addressed in the book as an illness and not things she was doing deliberately.

First time I'm hearing this narrator, she's great!!

Sweet story!

This is great Start to this Pine Valley Series! Love the Narrator Ann Marie Gideon as well! The story moves very smoothly. I was impressed with how the moms addiction was written. Very nicely done. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!

Glad this was in the Escape selection if I had spent a credit I would have returned it.
It was very dull, you knew how it would end from the beginning.

Boring

The flirty comment Dawson made toward Gwen, Alica's bff, was blown way out of poportion and for some reason Alicia doesn't respond to Jeff's text because his lawyer offended her friend.

That was one instance.

Sometimes juvenile

The only negative I have is that the narrator kept saying “real-A-tor instead of realtor. It drove me nuts!

Cute, crisp! But…

My only issue with this book was the weird contrived “why we can’t be together” issue she came up with for the drama to the story. I didn’t fee like it made any sense or followed how the story was going. I felt like it was a forced thing that was thrown in there for the drama. Otherwise I loved the book, even though I’d prefer a little more intimacy.

Enjoyed this

Not sure what to think about this story. It was so boring and the plot just dragged. Spoiler: after ten years the H and h met again. As always, they acted as if nothing happened between them or have they moved on. The heroine had no backbones and she apologized when the H breakup with his girlfriend while she was with him? That said, this story was weak and so were the main characters. i couldn't finish.
