Publisher's summary
His impossible hybrid rebellion crushed the immortal government.
But then, his wife died, and his unborn son, both at the hands of his all-powerful father.
Now a cripple, Raek must rise once more to fulfill his wife’s dying wish: to unify the splintered species of humanity.... Even the cyborgs and fallen immortals push for war, revenge, and the absolute decimation of the once subservient hybrids.
Unimaginable destruction amidst a veneer of peace, until a mysterious figure from Raek’s past emerges once more.
Overnight, Raek’s world is obliterated. Politics, power, betrayal…a new world order? There’s a war coming for humanity’s future, one with murder, massacre, and intrigue. An awful game, yet all that stands between tyranny and total destruction is a 17-year-old wolfish warrior with built-in blasters, and a dying promise he dare not break.
Welcome to 2097, the beginning of the end, or of something much greater. Only time will tell.
Wolfish is the second in the Wolfish YA dystopian series that features broken immortality, post-apocalyptic political intrigue, and impending genetic war. If you like dark sci-fi technothrillers, fast-paced adventure, and surprising science fiction, are a fan of Divergent, Red Rising, or the Hunger Games, or love dystopian teen classics like the Handmaid’s Tale, Brave New World, and Ender’s Game, you’ll love this explosive speculative fiction thriller.
Buy Wolfish today for a breakneck sci-fi whirlwind...right up to its astonishing conclusion!

Story
Tess McBray was dying. The solstice syndrome had no cure, and she resigned herself to an early grave. But just when she gave up on survival, all her symptoms mysteriously disappeared. All but one symptom, anyway. Something is wrong with Tess’ hands. They absorb any material they touch, and her skin turns to wood, steel, or concrete. It doesn’t take this comic book obsessed 21-year-old long to figure out what’s going on: somehow, she’s developed super powers. And she’s not the only one; across the country, people are coming forward and sharing their gifts with the world.

The world is suddenly thrown into chaos as a research project is sabotaged and the dead come alive to feast on the living - it seems like an old story, doesn’t it? The Apocalypse Crusade is not that book. You are not suddenly thrust into a world gone mad. Instead, you get front-row seats to how the sh-t went down. In real time you are witness to the agony and the horror…and the terrible stupidity that made it all possible.

In the high mountains of Tibet, rumors are spreading. People whisper of an outbreak, of thousands of dead, of bodies pushed into mass graves. It is some strange new disease...a disease, they say, that can kill in minutes. The Chinese government says the rumors aren't true, but no one is allowed in or out of Tibet. At the Pentagon, admiral James Curtiss learns that satellite images prove that a massive genocide is underway. This is no disease. It's a weapons test. Life was a whole lot easier when the dead stayed dead. I thought I was human. Apparently, I was wrong. I didn't even know there were non-humans. Others, they're called. Fairies, vampires, even the bogeyman - they're all real. At least, that's what the werewolf told me when I saved her from the cops. Did I mention that I saved a werewolf? And those weren't just cops trying to kill her. They're a deadly cult with the sole purpose of capturing and torturing Others...especially me. Because it turns out I'm not just any Other. I can talk to the dead.

Captain Tess Bailey is in deep trouble. She and her crew are on the run, pursued by a tyrant who'll take them dead or alive. Tess's best hope is a tall, dark, and much-too-appealing stranger, Shade Ganavan, who says he can help her. But his motivations are far from clear. With the dreaded Dark Watch closing in, what Tess and Shade don't know about each other might get them killed, unless they can set aside their differences and learn to trust each other before it's too late.

Okay, so jogging through Central Park after midnight wasn't a bright idea. But Margrit Knight never thought she'd encounter a dark new world filled with magical beings, not to mention a dying woman and a mysterious stranger with blood on his hands. Her logical, lawyer instincts told her it couldn't all be real, but she could hardly deny what she'd seen...and touched.

Captivating story and narration!
Ward’s writing and story details are so compelling that I feel like I’m there, yet it is the narration of this specific book that locked me in! The narrator builds suspense and does an outstanding job supporting the storyline in an engaging way while bringing believable emotion that captivated me as a listener. Great book! Check it out!
