About this listen

Sixty-five-year-old Summer is ready to begin the rest of her life. A quirky soul, she lost her husband fifteen years prior and does not think she will ever find love again. Her goal? To travel and live her best life. And she takes her gong along.

Following his second heart attack after the death of his wife, sixty-seven-year-old Ted Winter receives an ultimatum: to retire and live a healthier lifestyle or his daughter will move into his house with her family to care for him. Without his wife or his work, Ted's ordered and predictable days are behind him.

Mishaps and miscommunication, lack in understanding personal boundaries, and love of food infuse this romantic comedy with laughs, tears, and cinnamon buns.

Christine's writing coupled with Wendy's performance and narration is a master class in storytelling. Superb!!!!

Christine Noyes has written Winter Meets Summer so beautifully that its’ heart warming story comes through so luscious and relatable for mature audiences as narrated and acted by Wendy Merritt. I fell in love with the characters from the start and the story grabbed right away. So much so that I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook until it was done in the wee hours of the morning. I hope Christine and Wendy pare up again for more great storytelling like that which I just read/listened to. Well Done!

Warm feeling in my heart

Christine Noyes has woven a beautiful story with rich, loveable characters. They have ups & downs throughout & you feel them all. Wendy Merritt did an amazing job bringing these people to life. Listening to it I felt like I was with them. She embodied the main character & I believe she is Summer. If you're looking for a feel good story that will keep you entertained & feeling all the feels I recommend this 110%!

Outstanding!

The book is at once entertaining and inspirational! At first glance the main characters are complete opposites, yet have much to offer each other. I was encouraged to not overlook life’s experiences, not to be boxed in by who I think I am, but to explore what life has to offer, what chance may bring my way. Even though the characters have lived numerous years, they are vibrant and young at heart. These characters are so real I can truly relate to them, particularly because of how masterfully they are written and performed. Wendy Merritt has done a marvelous job of bringing the book to life. She has a deep understanding of the characters and does a terrific job of making them real! I look forward to experiencing more from both Christine Noyes and Wendy Merritt. Bravo!
