About this listen

Matt Reddy and the crew of the USS Walker are positioned to push the line of battle to the breaking point on an alternate Earth, in the thrilling return to the New York Times best-selling Destroyermen series.

Matt Reddy and his sailors have fought, bled, and died for their Lemurian friends and other allies from across time, but their enemies are still operational. In Africa, the Grik General Esshk has escaped defeat to build a new army and new weapons, and is desperate enough to use them to destroy the world if he can't have it.

In South America, the NUS, General Shinya, and the Army of the Sisters have the evil Dominion on the ropes and are closing in on the seat of its blood-drenched power, but the twisted Don Hernan has struck a deal with the fascist League, and Victor Gravois is finally assembling the awesome fleet of modern ships he's always craved. If he's successful, the war will be lost.

Undermined by treachery on a stunning scale, Matt Reddy must still steam his battered old ship halfway around the world, scraping up what forces he can along the way, and confront the mightiest armada the world has ever seen in a fiery duel to the death.

Brace yourself for minor irritations.

I was very sad to hear that William Dufris had passed away. The dedication to him read by the new narrator was very touching. I was overall pleased with the narration and was prepared for there to be changes. I just wish the new narrator had done his homework. He changed the pronunciation of Earl Lanier’s name. He gave Shinya an R for L accent which Shinya never had.

This could have been avoided with a little listening to how Dufris portrayed these characters.

The end of an era

To be honest, LCDR Matthew Reddy and the cast of Destroyermen have been my guiding lights all my adult life. It has been my greatest privilege to finally equal his rank in the U.S. Navy Ben Mallory's aerial antics inspired me to go for my pilot's license and the never quit attitude saw me through a nightmare of a checkride. As an engineer, the gumption and adaptability of the destroyermen have inspired me to assess, adapt, and overcome many challenges. Thank you Taylor Anderson for all that you. and your fantastic world have given me and my real life adventures.

almost perfect

this was a great place to close out the series leaving room to return to this world, my only wish is that one baddie had a more conclusive ending but I can see why you might keep them around great series

Great ending to a Great Series

I won’t leave and hints to how it ends but there was some twists I didn’t see coming. I did get sad and didn’t see some of the characters deaths coming but where and when and how they passed went very well with the story. It only took the the first few chapters before I realized I liked the narrator PJ Ochlan characters. He had had some big shoes to fill in replacing William Dufris after he had passed.

A fine conclusion to a most entertaining series

The author does a good job of wrapping up all the major story threads, and leaves enough minor threads that make you want to spend more time in this wonderful world he's created. I'm looking forward seeing (or listening ;) to where he takes the new stories

Thank you Taylor Anderson for a great series.

The saga finally finishes and was great. RIP William Dufris...sorry you didn't get to finish the last book with your great narration. PJ Ochlan did a good job of narration. It took a little while to get use to the change but in the end it worked well. Thank you Taylor Anderson for a great series.

Wow, an awesome conclusion that excitedly leaves room for a new one!

Seriously, I can’t say this enough… It was awesome, and while Ochlan was different than Dufris (RIP) he did final book justice and Dufris justice.

I really hope for some spin offs!

Great ending to a Great series

lots of books that held your attention of a swath of years. did fall a little formulaic at times but held your attention enough to want to see what happens next and we'll worth the wait.
