About this listen

Fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Peter Lerangis' Seven Wonders series will embrace this first epic adventure in a rollicking new series by a New York Times best-selling author.

Will Wilder is a mischievous, headstrong 12-year-old with an otherworldly gift - he alone can see the nefarious creatures encroaching on Perilous Falls. For nearly a century, a sacred relic has protected his hometown from the raging waters surrounding it. But when Will "borrows" the relic for his own purposes, he accidentally unleashes an ancient evil.

As boats sink and hideous creatures crawl from the rising waters, Will must set things right before it is too late. With the help of his sweet (if lethal) great-aunt Lucille, the curator of a museum of powerful artifacts, Will proves that the actions of one 12-year-old boy can change the world.

The Best True Catholic Book for kid!

He did a great job on this book! Raymond Arroyo has a amazing gift of description. Big thumbs up! Good book for the family! We first look listened to it in the the car. That made all the long car rides something to look forward to. Then, as a family, we talk about it. But the book is intense in some spots so keep the readers a little older. The youngest was about 9 years old, that is a good age range! Overall, it is a fantastic book! Get it, SOON!

Fantastic story and an amazing performance

it won't be long before this becomes the new Harry Potter. Raymond does all the voices and he makes the story come alive.

A creative new series of adventures

I really enjoyed Raymond arroyo’s voices for each character he is very talented. I also enjoyed the story he’s creating around biblical artifacts and characters. Although a lot of the material is fiction for instance the staff of Moses existing and Elisha‘s mantle, it is a neat way to introduce children to the Bible and the real life characters that exist in the Bible. He also suddenly presents this material he doesn’t hit you over the head with that and he introduces scripture without quoting chapter and verse so that those familiar with the content of the Bible will know it’s context but others will be like wow that’s a neat piece of wisdom or saying. My only drawback is that I was constantly comparing this book to the Harry Potter series. had i read these books 1st I might’ve had an even better impression of these books than I did.

Excellent Story & Performance!

A fun read for All. Great Story & Excellent Storytelling by Mr. Aroyo. We were totally engrossed by the story, and thoroughly enjoyed the sometimes scary, but cleverly unfolding adventure of Will and his friends in "Perilous Falls".

This was a very exciting yet fun read. Plus it was Educational without being too preachy, nor was it overtly catechetical and moralizing. My 9 year old and I were very impressed by the amount of things we learned about our Faith, the limits of naturalism, as well as the importance of knowing our history and reading the Bible.

The performance was exceptional, Mr Aroyo is a very giftede v.oice actor, we can't wait to read Part Ii.
