Goodreads Reader’s Choice Nominee, Best Romance, 2012

Goodreads Author of the Year Nominee

She's about to walk on the wild side....

While filling the display case in her bakery, the bell over the door sounds and Tessa O'Hara looks up to see the man of her dreams. Within 30 seconds he asks her out for a beer. But after four months of dating, she discovers he's an undercover DEA agent—and he's investigating her possible role in her ex-husband's drug business. For Tess, this means their relationship is over.

Brock disagrees. He's committed to his anti-drug mission, but he's fallen in love with the beautiful woman who's as sweet as her cupcakes—and he'll do anything to win her back.

Standing between Tess and Brock are their own exes, one of them a drug lord who's determined to get what he wants. Now as danger threatens, can Brock break the rules he's lived by and let loose his wild side to protect the woman he loves?

I liked it.

It was pretty good. Not one of my favorites but I did enjoy the story. I like the way it's tied into some if the other characters don the writers series..I'll listen to it again just to make sure I got the whole story. I tend to use these to fall asleep at night so I have to go back and re listen to them. So it's worth a relisten

LOVE Kriten Ashley books - but this narrator...

If you could sum up Wild Man in three words, what would they be?

I liked it

Would you be willing to try another one of Kate Russell’s performances?

I hoped that this book's performance would be better than the first in the series. This one, the narrator added a jersey, or 1940's mob movie type accent to the Colorado native characters. It was pretty distracting. I'm considering returning the other books read by her from this series...

AWFUL NARRATION

What did you love best about Wild Man?

the wild man himself. :)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brock. he's great. He's just like all of KA's heroes. Love them or hate them. I love them.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kate Russell’s performances?

NO! The narrator does a weird jersey accent for characters who live in Colorado. She does what I assume is her version of cool guy speak. It's silly. It doesn't work. thankfully I'd already read this story and knew I loved it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Wait...what?

I love this KA story. The narrator, however, seems to be under the impression the characters are from Long Island, maybe parts of Jersey, instead of Denver. Just not the voices or manner of speech I expected from reading the book many times over.

Kristen Ashley is an auto Go To for me

The story is good as usual but the male narrator has a New York/New Jersey accent. Brock Lucas is not from that area of the country. I recommend more scrutiny applied to the choice of narrators. Another Audible book of hers had this same issue.

Better titled Cupcakes & Frosting...

Any additional comments?

Not Mystery Man but still great characters you can't help but fall in love with! Missing that edgy suspense from previous books... Can't wait for Hot Man!

Too much fluff this time!

Ok, I loved Mystery Man but this one had too many baby, honey, sweetness, my boys and on and on. There was a little action near the end, otherwise no Wild Man that I could find. The narrator was a little annoying this go round, but with all the fluff words I can see why.

Narration

Narration was great and and followed well with the previous books. However, the only problem I had was the voice of Daisy. This was not the voice that was previously used and jolted the listener from the story. Daisy's voice is distinctive and lovable. The voice used in this narration is everything but. It is bland and lifeless. The other voices are great, and carried over from the other audiobook well. It is just this one voice.

Weird Narration

The narrator uses very strange accents for people living in the Midwest. Their accents changed in the middle of chapters. It was very discomfiting.
The story itself was interesting and kept my attention. I was engaged until the end and liked the family style story setting.

A good read...

I loved Brock! ❤Such a He Man/Alpha 🔥His character is Intense with depths of emotions Love and Anger. I liked how he wanted to be face to face. That closeness and intimacy He demands.. Tess was the balm the cool breeze for him. Flows over and quenches the flames 🔥. BROCK.❤🌹🥰🍷
I just needed the end to be a little more of the other family members. it was a HEA but not 5stars ... Better emotional & neatly wrapped and not thrown together.
strong story writings.
