About this listen

Kathy, whose brain is over-saturated with Victorian novels, falls for Wyatt, the boy with all the verbs. It's your classic case of a shy gal running screaming from love.

To look through the eyes of an innocent girl again

This is a very short look at the world through the eyes of a young girl, with her first crush on a boy, and the emotional rollercoaster she encounters, as they encounter each other through their daily school activities. However, as is normal with the young at heart, each look, encounter and touch is analysed and relived, blowing each situation well out of hand.

Short, sweet listen

This audiobook was a nice story to listen to over lunch! The narration was well done and the story brings back days when I was much younger than I am now. Overall, a good listen!

Great short story!

This story took me back to what it was like to have a crush on that special someone and hoped they felt the same!

Why I'm Thrilled NOT To Be A Teen!

What a lovely short, sweet, silly novel--well, short story--which ultimately provides a terrific model for learning to cope and exploring the concept of interacting with the opposite sex once boys no longer have cooties (okay, some of them will ALWAYS have cooties). In fact that sentence may be longer than the story.

I neither read nor wrote poetry, Victorian or otherwise, but the feelings shared are pretty much universal to being a teenage girl with a bit of a crush on a guy. (Not being gender specific or exclusive--the FEELINGS are pretty much the same no matter to whom you are attracted--but this is written from the standpoint of a girl liking a boy.) The narrator Moira Todd (AUDIO) has a perfect voice for the heroine and manages the other characters (including male) quite nicely, too. A perfect nugget.get.

Rushed and Cheesy, but Cute

I thought this book was cute, but the characters were pretty cheesy as well as unrealistic. The whole plot seemed really rushed as well. Maybe I’m just not one for short stories, but I didn’t find this one anything more than okay.

Why Can't My Life..., by Melinda R. Cordell

This was a very fun and quiet little story about a girl with a crush on a boy, lacking the self esteem to tell him so. As she always does, Cordell fills the story with enough details and knowledge that you KNOW she's pulling from her real life.

And the reader was excellent. I hope she does most, if not all, of Cordell's future books.

A fun quick high school romance story

As a former band geek myself, this story of high school band romance really appealed to me. I only wish it had been longer!

Short and Sweet

I loved this short but sweet first love story. It left me wanting more... hopefully this turns into a full length book? If not - still a great short story of the emotional rollercoaster we all remember from our youth. Falling in "love" and taking that first step is better when it's not you and you are reading about it from afar.
Thanks for making my morning commute more enjoyable and the time fly past as I enjoed this audiobook.
Happy Listening...enjoy!
