Publisher's summary

They thought they were safe, somewhat hidden from the world. They were wrong.

They thought they knew how to protect themselves and each other. They were wrong again.

In the blink of an eye, they lost people, good people, who were trying to help others. When the evil outside the farm finds its way in, how will they react? Will they hide themselves away, or join in the fight for survival and freedom? They've paid the ultimate price. How much more will this new way of life cost them?

I WAS enjoying this series until....

They changed narrators for the 3rd book. She has a completely different 'accent', is rather monotone and sounds far too young to have a teenage son. I'm also getting the feeling that neither reading nor speaking are among the things she does best. On top of all that her voice makes me want to clear my own throat I'm a sympathetic kind of way. I'm having a hard time trying to get through it just so I know what happens.

Awesome ending for the series!

Well built characters. Fanastic storyline that continues from the preceding trio! In a year, I will listen to the entire trilogy again. a little hard to transition narrators, but I understood that going in.

is the pain ever gone?

I loved this entire series. This 3rd book was the perfect ending even tho I was not wanting it to end. It sweeps you along on a ride that you can see in your mind. I found myself with tears and smiles and laughter. Thanks Patty for
such a great series.

Horrible narrator! What happened to Jennifer who narrated the rest of this series?

I love this series and wish I could find it to purchase the book set. But I could barely finish the last book because the horrible narrator was so awful, boring and flat voiced, and it threw off the entire series to change narrator that did the rest of this great series. I loved the narrator Jennifer Groberg voice who narrated the first books of this series. I would like the author to have her to re-do this last book. This is one of my favorite series and I hope the author releases the entire book set, including the prequel, for purchase on Amazon. I’d buy it for both myself and my best friend.

Good book, great info SPOILERS

One thing before the review. I think I was a little harsh regarding the narrator in the first 3 books (.5-2). Although I found the accent a little off putting, she could pronounce words properly. I actually missed her in this book.
I liked the book and the prepper info. I have felt invested in the families and am happy with the way the families were tied up, *SPOILERS START HERE*
however, why kill 2 of the most beloved characters?! Also, I think I would have enjoyed the series if it went on to explore the militia and the reason for the pulse. The soldiers and the information they provided piqued my interest. I think I would enjoy exploring that aspect in further book.

When the pain is gone

I really enjoyed this series. From the first to the third, I was right there with the families. The book took me totally into the story, that’s just about the highest praise I can come up with!
I picked up some great tips on prepping also, I am one of those ‘I rather have something and not need it than need something and not have it’ people.
The only problem I can mention is the narrator for the third book just didn’t do it. I always listen to audiobooks as well as getting the kindle version and was really disappointed with this new reader. The other gal( Jennifer Groberg ) was perfect!
Really looking forward to P A Glaspy’s
next series!

Good Story

Couldn't wait for this 3rd installment and was happy when I saw it in the audible store however wish the narrator would have stayed the same as in the first 2 books!

good story

I loved the story line and conclusion of this series. I am a real fan of P. A. Gladly! however, I was severely disappointed with the change of narrator for this last book in the series. the first 2 books really made me feel that I "knew" Ann. the change in narrator at this point threw the whole story line out of kilter. sorry. just my opinion.
