Lullu, der Wellensittich von Lasse, sitzt traurig am Kinderzimmerfenster. Was ist nur los mit ihm? Ob er wie viele andere Vögel auch einmal in ferne Länder reisen möchte? Also macht Lasse seinen Wellensittich Lullu zu einem Zugvogel. Zwar geht die Reise nicht nach Australien, wo Wellensittiche eigentlich herkommen, sondern nur zu Tante Tilde. Aber auch das ist sehr abenteuerlich. Denn erst verschwindet Lullu um ein Haar im Zugabteil, dann verliebt er sich in das Wellensittich-Mädchen Mariechen. Wie kann Lasse ihn nur dazu bringen, wieder mit nach Hause zu kommen?
