Publisher's summary

Lady Beatrix Danbury had always known she would marry William Mallory. She'd loved him forever, and she'd never doubted he loved her, too. But when she made him choose between their life together or his lifelong dream, Will chose the latter...and left two weeks before their wedding.

Will has no illusions that Beatrix would welcome him back with open arms, but six years did not dim his love or desire for her. The only problem is, she's about to marry someone else. Someone safe and predictable... the complete opposite of Will. But can he stop the wedding of the season and win Beatrix back, or is it just too late?

No, not for me...

Duke who waisted all his inheritance ( 100k £ approximately 12£ million pounds in today’s money) and comes back to England to beg for more money from his friends to finance his hobby is not my idea of romantic hero. What is the point of poor Duke.....totally useless less than beta hero...

Well…..:

I read a review that was poor and accepted it. After all the plot didn’t seem impressive. I LOVED it! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it‼️

The Duke was disappointing

The heroine should’ve married her perfectly pleasant fiancé —he was a much better catch than the Duke who left her to follow his risky expensive dream.

Extraordinary!

Wonderful story--Superb performance by Anne Flosnik!

I enjoy a variety of books, but my favorite genre is Historical Romance. Set in the beginning of the 20th century "Wedding of the Season" has everything I look for in a book.

I don't think I've read a historical romance novel set around this era and I find the time period and setting makes it pleasantly original, and believable.

"Wedding of the Season" is not your usual fairy-tale romance, but is more realistic--the problems, the doubts and concerns of the hero and heroine are real. One can easily understand both points of view--they want two very different things from life. They have loved each other since childhood, but when given the ultimatum, 'to stay with her or give up his lifelong dream' Will chose the latter and left two weeks before their wedding.

I highly recommend it!

Just okay.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have made Will and Beatrix contemplate their past decisions a lot less.

If you’ve listened to books by Laura Lee Guhrke before, how does this one compare?

This is my the first time I've listened to or read anything by Laura Lee Guhrke.

What aspect of Anne Flosnik’s performance would you have changed?

Anne Flosnik isn't my favorite narrator as she can get carried away a bit, but she did okay with this story.

Do you think Wedding of the Season needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There is a second book in the series, which I plan on listening too. I've read the reviews for the second book and it's supposed to be very good.

Was a delightful listen

I really enjoyed the story. It was fun it was light. It had enough passion and excitement and the narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life.

not much romance!

Not really much romance, mostly just hero and heroine bickering about the past.
I was very disappointed felt it was a waste of a credit. I thought this author would be better Narrator made it even worse. I had to struggle to get through it!
