About this listen

A fractured mind and a race against time…

Tom Mondrian is watching his life ebb away directing traffic as a police constable—until a bullet to the brain changes everything. With a new unusual perspective, including an inability to recognize faces and absolutely no filter between what he thinks and what he says, Tom finds his career is suddenly shifting gear.

Tom’s new condition gives him an advantage over other police officers, allowing him to notice details that they can’t see. Now, with his new insight and unwavering determination, Tom is intent on saving three missing girls, before more start to disappear…

Loved the main character!

Yeah, like they said, it's good. It'd make an awesome movie, or better yet, a Netflix series.

My 2023 Six Star Review - Tremendous !

This is my 101st review over many years.....I only review books I really like--and never when the review is solicited. For several years I have tried to get Audible to allow any listener who reviews more than 10 books in a category to assign one "6-star" review per year. Still no luck...so I do it myself. This book is a police procedural that is fun, interesting, and perhaps something seemingly impossible--a new take on the "buddy" English police procedural. I won't give away even an iota of the plot, but it is simultaneously recognizable to anyone who likes the genre, and yet a fresh take. Also, I'm always very wary of authors who perform their own work. However, I can't imagine anyone else narrating this--or that anyone could possibly have done a better job. It is a book that begs to be heard aloud--I cannot even imagine reading it rather than listening. So.....six stars and a firm "thank you" for a wonderful story and performance.
