Mm Mm Mm A MAGICAL MYTHICAL ROMANCE

Well I thought book 1 was good, but this is even better. It's an emotional story based in 1592 and Aidan a sexy, strong, Highland Laird has emotional scars left by the Fae's unwanted far reaching effects on his family's lives which eventually left him Laird at the tender age of 18 hating the Fae but whilst always looking after his half Fae brother Lochlan.

Syrena is a beautiful Fae Princess and someone has just killed her Father the King so her mission is to go to the mortal realm to retrieve her half brother Lochlan and make him the next Fae King. Well it sounds an easy plan but so many things go wrong and, as secrets slowly spill out, they have devastating results for all concerned.

This really is an action-packed adventure with treachery, betrayal, dark magic, suspense, secrets, surprises and murder happening in both realms and, through the whole storyline, is a tortured roller-coaster passionate romance. First there's mutual attraction, desire, longing and passion that's initially welcomed by the H/H but when Aidan finds out Syrena's Fae he's furious and disgusted which leaves her devastated. However, when they have to work and fight a dark enemy together a year later to rescue their brother, inevitably they can't fight their bursting passion any longer and sex ensues (not very explicit) but when their love is traumatically tested, Aidan once again denies Syrena and turns his back on her but his reasons aren't all selfish.

Worth a credit? Apart from the hunky handsome Highland hero, this fast-paced well developed story captivated me from the start with it's action, great main and secondary characters, humor and a romance that was frustrating, sad, lovely, heartbreaking but above all thankfully survived all that was thrown at it. A great PNR and, if you love this genre, then this series has to be a creditworthy addition to your Library (could be a stand-alone listen).

Fairies and Sexy Highlanders...DELICIOUS!

This was a different historical romance for me. The fantasy element was subtle but it made for a nice change. There were some great supporting characters. I laughed, held my breath, and teared up at times. I found out at the end it is part of a trilogy. This is the second book in the trio. Lord of the Isles, Warrior of the Isles, and King of the Isles.

I don't love the narrator, but I don't dislike her either. Just middle of the road. She does a pretty good job, but takes a few minutes to get used to.

It started a bit slow but by the second half I hated to have to pause it.

I enjoyed this book...not the best...but good and I look forward to listening to the other 2 books in the series.

Adventurous Fairy Tale

If you read and liked (Lord of the Isles) the first book in this series and then I'm sure you will enjoy this addition. Although I did like the first book more, this book still delivers an adventurous romantic "fairy" tale that is full of delightful characters amid a story packed with action and light humor.

I will be sure to listen to the next in the series.

keep up the good work

This was book 2 of the series, I will definitely be reading book 3. I think I liked the first one better, but this one still gets 5 stars. I'm not a fan of dark magic so I hope book 3 doesn't get into the dark side to much.
