About this listen

The heart always wants what it can't have...

Duty, honor, and sacrifice.
Dedicating my life to these elements, for family and country, leaves little for myself in return.
It's why I indulge in a no-strings hookup with a handsome stranger mere days before heading half-a-world away.
Except one night turns into a week-long fling, creating a connection at the most inopportune time.
And neither of us want it to end.
Staying in touch is easy at first, but dwindles to radio silence and distant memories as time passes.
I didn't expect him to reemerge in my life months later, now belonging to someone else.
It should be enough for us both to walk away.
To push down this relentless, aching want.
But we don't.
We can't.
Because the heart always wants what it can't have.

An amazing book with a backwards twist.

Will and Pierce will be with me for a while. Such a beautifully written book with characters you can feel to your depths. The twist in the middle is unexpected yet still subconsciously anticipated. Such a fresh take that we haven't seen before in the many books I've read. Seriously don't miss this book, it's a keeper!

Amazing!!!!

I just finished it and I have no words. I am so sad that it’s over but I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of this story. And as always, I couldn’t get through it without those amazing narrators!
No matter how good a story is , if the narrator can’t pull it off , I can’t finish it.
So thank you for being amazing !
Don’t miss out. Read it now.!❤️

Best of 2024 !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gritty and gripping yet, emotionally powerful and heartfelt!
A magnetic and lust full one night stand turns into a electric and powerful very steamy week romance into a lost/ forbidden love.
A story of imperfect people in a imperfect world!

Surprising Twist

Coming off of Don't You Dare by CE Ricci I thought I would give this one a try. The blurb about this book seemed intriguing.
Will and Pierce meet in a bar and end up having the most intense weeklong sex sessions sprinkled in with spending enough time together to know that what they have is more than a casual hook up.
Will is headed off to duty in the Army and Pierce is on his way to Seattle for a new job. They decide to become pen pals and embark on a letter writing campaign where they get to know each other. Getting to know each other and staying together. But then Will asks Pierce if he can see him when he gets back into town but Pierce ghosts him.
***SPOILER FOR THIRD ACT****
Will comes back stateside to his sisters wedding only to find out that the groom is Pierce. Talk about heartbreak. Pierce is so selfish at this point and won't let Will go. They end up having sex after Pierce comes over drunk. But of coarse he regrets it in the morning breaking Will's heart all over again. Then at Pierce's birthday party he get so jealous when Will leaves to go stay at a friend's house, who is married, and accuses Will of sleeping with a married guy. How manipulative of him when he is the married guy that seduced Will. Pierce is just a creep. I really wished that Will would have met another guy and rubbed it into his face. Seriously. Pierce says he was in love with Will but he never even gave him a chance. Instead he ghosts him and moves on like their week never happened. But then he gets all possessive over Will when he is back. It's just too much. Will is so much better but has self doubt issues due to loosing his father and his mother and sister not accepting his military career choice. And...Emily, the sister, is annoying. She's all trying to force Pierce and Will to be friends when it's obvious to everyone that they don't want to be around each other. Seriously . Read the room.
Eventually it all comes out about the week that Will and Pierce spent in Cannon Beach and Emily moves on. Will and Pierce get to have their happy ending and, I guess, Love Is Love. I get it. Those two were meant to be together. You knew just by when they met. Emily moves on with someone too and he is a Brit so she may have won after all. Love me a British guy.
Will and Pierce have serious chemistry and it's sexy as hell. Their sex scenes are smoking hot. Nothing wrong in that department.
Jacob Morgan and Zachary Johnson do an outstanding job narrating the book.

Emotional

This writer knows how to make every emotion hit like a knife to the heart. Couldn't stop listening. Amazing work makes you see over and over love is love and that is something none of us have control over. I didn't look at reviews on this book which is not like me because I am picky about what I use my credit on. Needless to say I was shocked to see where it was going. It was like watching a car crash I couldn't look away no matter how bad I wanted to. I hope u listen to this book and let it remind u how messy and beautiful life is.

Wow. Wow. Wow! I could not put this down; listened to the whole thing in one day.

If you love intense heat, emotions, and angst, this book is for you. This author has not failed me yet with the quality of both the story and the writing. The MC’s are gasoline and a match from the moment they meet. Both narrators are perfect for their characters and add a lot to the whole book with their fabulous voice acting skills. I think they’re both now in my top five favorites with their silky voices and ability to make you feel deeply entrenched in, well, everything they do. There is a HEA, but you’ll really wonder how in the hell they’re going to get there. If I could give this ten stars, that’s what it deserves.

10s, 10s, 10s Across the Board!

With these two authors and these two narrators this book is everything you'd expect. Stellar story, all the feels, delicious spice, and satisfying HEA.
I cried for these guys and I loved them. I felt their pain and their love. The best kind of books are when you feel like you know the characters, and you experience their emotions right along with them. That is good writing folks! When you blend that with superior narrators, some of the best voice actors around, you get a book that Gold! I can't praise the authors and narrators enough.
I absolutely LOVED, ADORED, SMILED AND COOED over the Easton and Cannon cameo. My heart!!
In summary, no question, get this book, you won't be sorry!
