About this listen

Days after his murder, Chip grabbed his fiancé while she laid sleeping. "I'm not gone, I'm right here," he told her. "You can't see me, but I am here. I'll never leave you. I promise." When Lyn Ragan started hearing from her deceased lover, she thought she was losing her mind. Not only had the love of her life been ripped away, she was seeing dead people.

Guiding his sweetheart through a twisting plot into the wonder of life beyond death, Chip teaches Lyn how to read the Signs and Messages he shares from the Afterlife. His determination to communicate from the Other Side keeps her focused on his new life, instead of how he died.

Chip's unforgettable visitations, creativity, and ability to leave gifts from the beyond, are remarkable blueprints for proof of life in the Hereafter. Filled with loss, grief, and otherworldly love, this true story will have you on the edge of your seat while you question the nature of life after physical death.

"Death is not the end of who we are, my darlin'." Chip said. "Love can never die. The one Key to everything beautiful is love. Our love lives forever."

Written like a conversation

I really enjoyed this book. Lyn Ragan tells this story like she's having a conversation with you, telling you about her beautiful experience with the love of her life, who was murdered. She just seems like she could be your next door neighbor, a down to earth, real person who had this incredibly experience. The narrator did an excellent job, so all in all, easy to listen to, will make you feel good story...

Story good -but narrator......

I'm still listening but the narrator is too up- down- sing song-and almost silly dramatic for my tastes. I like the story and will continue to listen but honestly -the more I listen to her ...she's kind of ruining it for me. Maybe it's just me but I think her sing song crap is taking away from the story.

Expectations:

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, I expected the story to have some of the aspects of the murder, see her curiosity about the murder and more explanation. Instead it crazed this part , and went into a discourse of , did I see or hear him, or did I not. How much they loved each other which was said over and over again till it became a little annoying.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Less pet names more murder mystery and more telepathic communication, that was meaningful to his death. The book seemed to repeat itself over and over again. At times boring and monotones. .

Would you be willing to try another one of Tracy Liz Miller’s performances?

The narrators voice in her attempt to be precise, was not believable . Words, like cute, this, the and any word ending with a t .

Could you see Wake Me Up!: Love and The Afterlife being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

The basis of the story could have been more interesting. But making it into a movie, I wouldn't go to see it.

Any additional comments?

I kept giving the book a chance hoping that it would become more interesting, but it never did. Wish I'd never wasted my time.

One of the most inspiring stories I've ever heard!

Thank you, Lyn, for sharing your incredible story. I have had countless similar experiences with a loved one that has crossed over. Thank you for sharing your soul's work. It's a beautiful story that is beautifully written and I felt every single word.

Good Story

The story is good, the narrator not so much. Would be better if the music between chapters was reduced. Went online to get reports of crime, and that gave me more insight.

Great Story! !

Hard to follow narrator, sounds like she's reading a child's book or she doesn't really know what she is reading.

Such levity!!

Lyn Ragan talks with such levity that it is hard to believe the tragedy that she is enduring. She talks with a bit of a sing-songy voice and it really is hard to believe what is going on. The book has merit but be prepared to feel confused about how sad it truly is. Her portrayal belies the gravity of the situation. Also, don't be surprised when you hear music between each chapter. It is unique, to say the least.

Nice story, but....

I love books like this, but this is almost painful to listen to. At first I thought it was just the narration, which is the worst I've heard out of more than a 100 audiobooks, but it's the way it's written. The main character has the maturity of a teenager, which combined with the narrator's 6th grade reading skill, I couldn't get past the second chapter. Very disappointed in this book!
