About this listen

Perfect for fans of Code Name Verity and The Girl in the Blue Coat, Wait for Me, from debut author Caroline Leech, brings a fresh new voice, and a perfect blend of sweet romance and historical fiction, to a much-loved genre.

It’s 1945, and Lorna Anderson’s life on her father’s farm in Scotland consists of endless chores and rationing, knitting Red Cross scarves, and praying for an Allied victory. So when Paul Vogel, a German prisoner of war, is assigned as the new farmhand, Lorna is appalled. How can she possibly work alongside the enemy when her own brothers are risking their lives for their country?

But as Lorna reluctantly spends time with Paul, she feels herself changing. The more she learns about him - from his time fighting a war he doesn’t believe in, to his life back home in Germany - the more she sees the boy behind the soldier. Soon Lorna is battling her own warring heart. Loving Paul could mean losing her family and the life she’s always known. With tensions rising all around them, Lorna must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice before the end of the war determines their fate.

Wait for Me!

This story just really hit me right in the heart! It is such a sweet book! About kindness and not focusing on the outward appearance of someone but looking at the heart! Seeing kindness in someone and loving them for who they are not by where they are from!
Please listen to this amazing story, you won’t be disappointed!

Great book and a good narrator

At first, I didn't think I was going to love this book as much as I did. I do love the historical fiction book genre. I was nervous about the narrator but she did a great job with all the accents and other words in different languages. The story was not overly exciting but did keep wanting to read. I would recommend this book to any 15 yr old an up.

loved it even though...

I enjoyed this book but there were a couple down sides to it. One was the Reader's voice was so quiet it was hard to hear and I had to have the volume on full blast just to hear it. I also didn't care for the voice she put to Paul as it sounded as though he was a young boy of maybe 12 and was too soft for a guy. I was disappointed as well at the end because I felt she could of gone a bit longer with it to finish their story off but seemed to cut it off too soon. I was glad she kept the story true to the time

So good!!!

I read this book not long after it came out and I loved it, so I decided to listen to the audiobook. The story is already great, and a the narrator makes it even better. She speaks with a Scottish accent, but changes her accent for different characters. One of the main characters being German, others British. The narrator does an amazing job! I'm falling in love with this book all over again! If you love romance novels set around WWII era, give this one a try!

Beautiful love story

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I am sad it’s over. I found myself engrossed in Lorna and Paul’s story. It’s well worth the credit/purchase.
