About this listen

Ja’Zara and Ja’Tara are identical twins born on Halloween; however, their lives couldn’t be more divided.

Ja’Zara, the oldest by six minutes, has always played by the rules. A Spelman graduate with a thriving dental practice, she married her college sweetheart and seems to be living the dream. But beneath the veneers there’s rotting decay. Her marriage is crumbling under the weight of unmet expectations, and Ja’Zara blames herself.

Silently envious of her sister’s life, Ja’Tara thrives in the chaos she creates. Her world is a blur of strip clubs, fast cash, and fleeting lovers. Manipulating men like pawns, she uses them to fund her extravagant lifestyle. When fate gives her a twisted gift, she revels in it, flaunting what her sister craves the most.

Ja’Zara’s birthday getaway to the remote Wildwood Cabin was supposed to be a chance to reconnect with nature, her husband and maybe even herself. That is until an uninvited guest arrives. The peaceful retreat turns into a blood-soaked nightmare – Where no secret stays hidden and betrayal runs deeper than anyone can imagine.

This Halloween, the masks come off, exposing the ugly truths hiding beneath the surfaces. Cruel intentions unravel as hearts hardened by envy and resentment, clash in a deadly game. Only one person will leave Cabin #69 alive — the rest will rot in the shadows of the truths they tried to bury.

Betrayal and Deceit

This is a cozy short read. I like the storyline. The traditional sister and husband sleeping around. It’s not too much and it’s not too little. I can see a part 2 to develop more of the main character life. Overall a good read.
