Science Fiction with Tight Sciense

Michael David Cochran’s Utterly Unleashed left off where the first book ended. Scientifically augmented super being twins, dodge corrupted casino execs, evil school kids and one hundred mile per hour fastballs to dive into the world of sinister global scandal. Mr. Cochran weaves a tale of teenage love, ambition and sci fi epic content into a tapestry of international intrigue and possible alternative history. All those conspiracy theories scratching at the back of your mind just got kicked to the front of the cerebral bus. Good vs. Evil with a celestial being referee? I am glad to be mentally stimulated to the point where I am verbally berating the characters in a book. One more book in the series to see if the future is going to be the same.

Great sci-if series

n this book we are given a much deeper look at Jaya and Jevin’s father and what drives him. Jimmy is way too smart for his own good and drive not only his parents to distraction but also Jaya and Jevin – his future children. A precocious young man, Jimmy sets the stage for how life will be and just how intelligent he is at the ripe age of 15! Of course, Jaya and Jevin contribute mightily to the plan!

Michael David Cochran, author, gives his listeners a closer in-depth look at the foundation of Jimmy and the power he unleashes on the world. Jimmy does not have a balance and check system to help keep his intelligence and power reasonable as his parents are totally lost, easily manipulated by him and as unprepared for the new world of Jimmy.

There is non-stop action, and the dialog is rich. Cochran is a masterful storyteller who is very adept at twists and creating complications that leave the listener startled and eager to hear more! His character development is measured and complete when the story is best served by it.

The narrator, Nan McNamara, gives an enthusiastic performance providing the perfect inflection for the dialog and narration. Her voice is easy to listen to and she seems to wear each character as if it were herself.

I look forward to hearing the next in this series.

Sci-fi with a difference, and an alluring reader

Another gripping, fast-paced installment in this series, I liked this sophomore outing even better than the freshman book. The complications and intrigue grow more compelling, especially in the hands of this deft storyteller. The action has a cinematic flair, yet is more thoughtful and relevant than your average sci-fi flick. A good audiobook.
