About this listen

A gripping story of how an entire family, deeply enmeshed in Mormonism for 30 years, found their way out and found faith in Jesus Christ.

For 30 years, Lynn Wilder, once a tenured faculty member at Brigham Young University, and her family lived in, loved, and promoted the Mormon Church. Then, their son Micah, serving his Mormon mission in Florida, had a revelation: God knew him personally. God loved him. And the Mormon Church did not offer the true gospel.

Micah's conversion to Christ put the family in a tailspin. They wondered, Have we believed the wrong thing for decades? If we leave Mormonism, what does this mean for our safety, jobs, and relationships? Is Christianity all that different from Mormonism, anyway?

As Lynn tells her story of abandoning the deception of Mormonism to receive God's grace, she gives a rare look into Mormon culture, what it means to grow up Mormon, and why the contrasts between Mormonism and Christianity make all the difference in the world.

Whether you are in the Mormon Church, are curious about Mormonism, or simply are looking for a gripping story, Unveiling Grace will strengthen your faith in the true God who loves you no matter what.

Very Enlightening...

I love her story. It’s quite entertaining and keeps my attention, but most of all i love this book because before i read it, i thought Mormonism and Christianity were basically the same. Boy was i wrong! I recommend this book mostly to my fellow Christian brothers and sisters, as it is quite useful to become more understanding towards mormons, and useful to gain the knowledge of the gospel, necessary to show any mormons, why what we (Christians) believe, is different from what they Mormons believe. Get. This. Book!

Incredible insight! Amazing journey!

This book has a remarkable perspective from the author and her family's journey - into and out of Mormonism. I found it to be so very helpful and clear in the differentiation of our biblical Jesus and the Mormon Jesus. The language is "similar" but the definitions are so very different! We have some aunts/uncles/cousins who are Mormon and often attempt to engage in friendly discussions - insisting our Jesus is the same. But He is not. Jesus said there is no marriage in heaven (Matthew 22:30, Luke 20:34-36, Mark 12:22-25), yet the Mormon faith highly regards their sealed marriages in heaven. If you contradict Christ in even one statement, you are out (Galatians 1:8).
Thank you, Lynn Wilder & team! To God be the Glory!

Amazing!

I live in a Mormon saturated area, reading this book has helped me so much understand, and now the ability to defend my Christian beliefs. It also helped underscore the truth of the Bible and the validity of Christianity.

Amazing insight into the Mormon culture!

A must-read for those who have a heart for the Mormon people, or just for those two guys who showed up outside your door one day.

An Inside Look, very eye-opening

I really enjoyed this book, as well as its counterpart, Passport to Heaven, the prelude to the author's story written by her son Micah, which I read first. Both books provide an inside look and revelation about Mormon life and culture, which was so helpful to understand what Mormons believe, the structure of church leadership, their perceptions of evangelical Christianity, their social fabric, and their spiritual motivations & goals. It helped me to see how most Mormons are genuinely seeking God but are really just caught up in a system that is a works-based path to righteousness and are unaware of the message of the Bible. In the author's words, Bible verses are cherry-picked to support congruity with the Mormon belief system. The other thing that impressed me was how just "reading the Bible with a childlike mindset" (ie, reading it with an open mind to just see what is says) was the means to salvation for each member of their family rather than persuasion by use of reason or argument. The persuasion, reason, and argument was provoked internally in each of them by the Holy Spirit through God's Word. It was a very faith-building story showing God's hand working personally in each one of their lives, showing God's love, grace, patience, and gentle leading to salvation in Jesus alone. I truly loved reading their family's story. To God be the glory in Jesus Christ!

Living in Utah

As parents who were asked and excepted the invitation from their oldest son to join him and his family in Salt Lake City for planting an evangelical Christian church, we so enjoyed Lynn Wilder‘s book. It gives us so much information on how to love and talk to our Mormon friends and coworkers

Compassionate first hand story about leaving Mormonism

Compassionate, non-judgmental, educational, and deeply personal story of how one family left Mormonism to discover the biblical Jesus. Great read if you want to find out more about Mormonism and how it differs from the Christian religion.
