Publisher's summary

Eighty-two-year-old Eugene has been murdering women for decades. While he is hitchhiking in Texas, searching for victim number 50, his past comes back to haunt him when he is picked up by a young woman, Laura. Her resemblance to one of his past victims reminds him of the one that got away.

As the moment approaches and Eugene prepares to overtake her, his aging body may not allow him to carry out the deed, and Laura may have some tricks up her own sleeve.

Solid Thriller

completely satisfied with the hour of engagement I got from this story. the characters are human and interesting. The plot clips along at a good pace and no words are wasted. I wasn't bored for a second. The premise is interesting and likely familiar as I'm sure we have all been warned against picking up hitchhikers and have driven past many while wondering why.

The narrator has done an excellent job with showing the differences in our two main characters. There are subtle variations in how he reads that give subtle hints at deeper goings on. I would totally listen to him host a podcast or something.

If you have an hour drive and are tired of the same old songs on the radio, you won't regret this purchase.

Short and Captivating!

I especially liked the three or four very unexpected twists and turns! Great job! There was enough detail to picture the scenes and keep the listener's attention from start to finish; but not so much that one would want to move on.

Another great audio book from Justin Fulkerson

One More Cup (by Justin Fulkerson) was the first book I listen about the other side.I've listened to many of his audio books, including this one. It's narrated by James, and a very good listen.. His audio books never disappoint.

Creepy tale

Nice creepy little tale, well-read with a menacing narrator. Gives one the chills, and reminds us to never pick up hitchhikers. As well as be specific about getting things done.

The World Truly is Very Small! Dangerously Small!

Unfinished Business is an amazingly terrifying tale with a bizarre twist that leaves one pondering whether to cheer or not. The tale begins with eighty-two-year-old Eugene and young Laura, two people who unintentionally meet and share secrets of their past.

Justin Fulkerson has taken two people and demonstrated just how small the world can be and what secrets do. The story moves slowly at first, building each character fully. When he hits the climax of their story, all I can say is “what a ride!” Fifty-six minutes short yet it packs a wallop!

The narrator, Alexander James, performs the novel expertly. His voice is smooth and deep, with just the right amount of inflection to show deep thought, memories, and fears. I have not heard Alexander James perform before, so I was very pleased to hear him.

This is my first experience with Justin Fulkerson, the author. I found his ability to take a short story and build on it so smoothly and quietly, that the listener does not even realize the shortness of the audiobook. I loved the twist! I was so NOT expecting it!

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.

One of the best endings I’ve heard!

At the Laura C’s an old man on a long stretch of highway she stopped and gave him a gas can at the he explains his is Corina out of gas up the road. Going on she doesn’t see a car and gets worried the old man didn’t look good after all so she turns around and decides to pick him up. Going up the road and off only side road she parks to help him get to his car the whole time he’s planning to killer but couldn’t go through with it because he fell down and started having a heart attack thank God Laura was there she got him to the hospital and even stayed for weeks waiting for him to get better. This story is amazing in a great way in how how are you and is the best part. I love these lunchtime reads they always pack a punch and are always entertaining. I recommend this to anyone who loves revenge serial killer stories and just play no being entertain.

Brief But Good

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
This short story may be short, but the author packed a great plot into that time. The narration was pretty good, and the characters were interesting. Overall I enjoyed this book and felt it’s definitely worth a listen!
