Even better than I expected!

I got this book for our summer travels and expected it to help us enjoy and appreciate nature more. The book definitely does that with all the activities and all the tidbits of information (such as the different smells of pine trees that vary from vanilla to butterscotch).

But what it also does -- and that was an unexpected and pleasant surprise -- is that this book focuses on the idea of mindfulness and awareness. I loved the example with the ticking wristwatch that can be heard from (relatively) far away if we focus on it.

Adam Crafter is a perfect narrator for this book. His narration pace is conducive to thought, reflection, and developing mindfulness that this book is intended to promote.

Meditative, awakening

I enjoyed sitting outside listening to Adam's steady, consistent and warm voice talk me through really communing with nature. A great way to turn the channel in your brain to the world around you-the little details. Great exercises.

Stick with it - it gets better

The first part of this audiobook was so "Doesn't everyone know this?" that it was not keeping my interest. I let my mind wander to who this would be aimed at and I guess it would be helpful to the younger generation who spend too much time inside in front of computers and don't have a clue about the great outdoors.
The book got better and more interesting the longer I listened. The narration was well done. Easy to listen to. I ended up liking this but had to grin and bear it for a while.
I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoy and Appreciate Nature

I listened to book 2 first and enjoyed how it was geared to encouraging children to appreciate nature. Book 1 is more for Adults. For me, this book was a reminder to appreciate what God has created and not take Nature for granted.

As adults, we get caught up on frivolous things and forget to “stop and smell the roses”. The author gives us some really good tips, ideas and advise on how to inspect & respect nature and never take the Earth for granted. He also challenges us to be more aware of our surroundings and be respectful of the Earth for future generations.

Audio books are tricky because the narrator has the power to make or break the listen. In this case, the narrator did a fabulous job. His pleasant voice was perfect for this type of book.

I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review courtesy of Audiobookboom.
