About this listen
Featuring an exclusive conversation with Logic and Steve Blum
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Logic comes the highly anticipated second novel set in the far future as two friends uncover if the utopian planet Paradise lives up to its name.
In the year 2115, when the Earth is no longer inhabitable, the remainder of humanity lives in Babel, a giant space station. Two pilots, Quentin and Kai, must find the planet Paradise, where only the most promising citizens are allowed to live. On their journey, Quentin and Kai encounter Quentin’s estranged father, who left Babel for Paradise when Quentin was a child, and they discover just how different Paradise is from what they imagined—and how they must change it for the better.
The bestselling author of Supermarket and platinum-selling hip-hop artist, Logic, returns to fiction with this gripping and propulsive sci-fi novel.

Twenty-seven-year-old rapper, songwriter, and producer Russ walks his own path, at his own pace. By doing so, he proved that he didn’t need a major label to surpass over a billion streams on Spotify/Apple Music, sell out arenas across the US and around the globe, and become one of the most popular and engaged rappers right now. His method was simple: love and believe in yourself absolutely and work hard no matter what. In this memoir, Russ inspires listeners to walk to their individual rhythms.

The Color of Everything is a thrilling tale of risk and adventure, written by a man who has done it all: he’s stood at the top of the world, climbed imposing mountain faces alone in the dark and become the only American to summit an 8,000-meter peak in winter. But it is also the story of a tumultuous life--a stirring, lyrical memoir that captures the profound musings of a brilliant and unquiet mind grappling with the meaning of success, the cost of fame, addiction, and whether it is possible to outrun your demons.

Story
Logic is often perceived as having little to do with the rest of philosophy, and even less to do with real life. In this lively and accessible introduction, Graham Priest shows how wrong this conception is. He explores the philosophical roots of the subject, explaining how modern formal logic deals with issues ranging from the existence of God and the reality of time to paradoxes of probability and decision theory. Along the way, the basics of formal logic are explained in simple, non-technical terms, showing that logic is a powerful and exciting part of modern philosophy.

A self-described orphan with parents, Bobby Hall began life as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, the only child of an alcoholic, mentally ill mother on welfare and an absent, crack-addicted father. After enduring 17 years of abuse and neglect, Bobby ran away from home and - with nothing more than a discarded laptop and a ninth-grade education - he found his voice in the world of hip-hop and a new home in a place he never expected: the untamed and uncharted wilderness of the social media age. In the message boards and livestreams of this brave new world, Bobby became Logic.

Story
About 2,500 years ago, Plato wrote a set of dialogues that depict Socrates in conversation. The way Socrates asks questions, and the reasons why, amount to a whole way of thinking. This is the Socratic method - one of humanity’s great achievements. More than a technique, the method is an ethic of patience, inquiry, humility, and doubt. It is an aid to better thinking, and a remedy for bad habits of mind, whether in law, politics, the classroom, or tackling life’s big questions at the kitchen table.

Benjamin, Mark, and Chloe were all set to graduate college in a few weeks. Ben had ordered a strange object from eBay to use as cover art for a book he was writing. It looked really cool, like a slightly charred old military artifact from 70 years ago. It was possibly part of an engine. After cleaning it up (it was found in a cow field), he placed the strange device on his dorm room desk directly over the wireless charging port. That woke it up. Unknown to him, the disabled starship hiding on the moon could now communicate with the missing part. The ship needed two things: 1) The missing ...

Steven Blum is the only reason to listen to this.
The story was rather basic and predictable. Not always a bad thing. but when 60% of the writing is just pop culture quotes, it feels super lazy. I understand how the pop culture is important to the story, but doesn't make it less irritating. By half way, every reference or quote had me rolling my eyes. I only finished listening to it, because I enjoy Steven Blum's narration.

Want something new even though there is nothing new anymore?
You found it!
Sir Robert does it again. Enjoy the story and all the call backs, along with a SF story that keeps you thinking:
Can a new world be better? Can we get along? Can we find ourselves or others? What is life?
All questions answered……
Ending was to Hollywood though. Go for next time logic, I mean, really go for it.

Every single piece of humanities pop culture implied with this line will implode in your mental processors as you ponder the implications of what this means for the characters in the novel and what it could mean for humanity in the near future if we aren’t careful with the advancements in a.i.

A Great Read
A great novel, I've never heard of Logic or Steve Blum before so thought I'd give it a try. I adored the story, and all the way through I thought, someone needs to pick this up for TV., shame the story couldn't be padded out over a audio book series as the story and characters have so much potential. Definitely recommend this one.

Fantastic
The pop culture tie-ins were amazing. While many sci-fi books try to pull off similar references, most feel forced, but Bobby was able to make it not only flow, but central to the story arc. The way Logic crafts this universe and ties it with his music is awesome… years and years of great content to build up to this book. The dedication to his craft is noteworthy. Storytelling takes many forms and Logic has demonstrated mastery over many mediums and artistic styles. Prior to 2024 I had only heard Logic’s songs here and there. I wasn’t too familiar with him. But then Ultra 85, the album, caught my attention…. I listened to the whole album start to finish. Before, I didn’t know Logic’s work, so listening to a song out of context didn’t do it justice. When I got it, I went back and listened to each album he released sequentially. Well, I think it’s safe to say I am a fan now…
