About this listen

It's 1962, in Trinity, Nevada, a small town on the edge of the desert, home to a military base serving the nuclear testing grounds.

Van Lopez and his brother Andy have enough to do keeping their truck running and the local criminal gang happy to be concerned about nuclear tests. Van has dreams, or-he's not sure what to call them-that he cannot explain or forget, but when he sees mysterious lights in the sky, he struggles to make sense of what now feel like his earliest memories.

On the day of the atomic test, the nuclear blast brings down something over Trinity that wasn't supposed to be there-something not of this world. Now Van is running for his life, pursued by a murderous Soviet agent and government forces bent on keeping all he has seen from getting out. Romances and rivalries come to a head as he fights for the things he cares about most, and in that final battle, he may have to make allies of his oldest enemies.

A thrilling new novel by the creators of Sekret Machines who, with the help of a team of government insiders, exposed the secret pentagon UFO program that captured America's attention and led to the first public congressional hearings about unidentified flying objects.

Fun story well told and narrated.

Akin to a Steven King story but with nuggets of truth. Fun read and perfect narration.

A waste of a chance credit. skip it

There is no point to this book. it is like the chapter in a story but the meaningless wordy babbling of a writer who wants to wright a series for the reoccurring revenue.

Fun listen, especially for us UFO heads

Listened to this story at work. Fun listen with good caricatures and a fun story line. There are fun little bits of UFO lore in here, but I feel like a few more could have been added in without alienating a more causal listener. The narrator did a good job to and was easy and enjoyable to listen to. Over all good stuff.

A mix between Stand by me and The day after Roswell

This book definitely has an old school Stephen King feeling about it. Given the authors previous work I was expecting something else. The pacing is a bit on the slow side but overall it was better than expected.

Great topic and cool approach but

But the execution isn’t there. Sorta like the movie he released earlier this year. It was novel but badly executed. But I’ll still continue to support his efforts cause there’s not enough doin the work.

Good story bad dialogue and writing

The story was good but the dialogue between characters made me cringe at times. The performance was ok but the voice he chose for the black character was real inconsistent and at time just terrible.

Not good

Poorly written and exactly what you would expect from this “author” the narration didn’t help the story either

Not good

Loved skret machines…. This is one of those “ why” books. Look forward to more, but for whatever reason, big miss. I question the commitment to sparkle motion…. 🤛🏼👍🏼🤷🏻‍♂️
