Story
The Perfect Weapon is the startling inside story of how the rise of cyberweapons transformed geopolitics like nothing since the invention of the atomic bomb. Cheap to acquire, easy to deny, and usable for a variety of malicious purposes, cyber is now the weapon of choice for democracies, dictators, and terrorists. Two presidents - Bush and Obama - drew first blood with Operation Olympic Games, which used malicious code to blow up Iran’s nuclear centrifuges, and yet America proved remarkably unprepared when its own weapons were stolen from its arsenal.

Story
In 2011, an elite group of US Navy SEALS stormed an enclosure in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad and killed Osama bin Laden, the man the United States had begun chasing before the devastating attacks of 9/11. The news did much to boost President Obama’s first term and played a major part in his reelection victory of the following year. But much of the story of that night, as presented to the world, was incomplete, or a lie. The evidence of what actually went on remains hidden.

Story
A remarkable analysis linking the assassination of JFK and 9/11, and how both events were used to influence war policy. Peter Dale Scott examines the many ways in which war policy has been driven by “accidents” and other events in the field, in some cases despite moves toward peace that were directed by presidents. This book explores the “deep politics” that exerts a profound but too-little-understood effect on national policy outside the control of traditional democratic processes.

You Need to Know What's in this Book
Bill Gertz has brougt together a frightning collection of words and deeds that our friends an foes alike (as well as the press) don't want us to know about. Arms sales, trade practices, side-deals, threre is a lot going on in the world that isn't reported and is designed to harm America. This book will open your eyes to what you already thought might be going on with details and specifics that legitimize his account.

Enlightening!
I love a book that forgets the lines of party and division and just puts the truth out there for all to dissect. Let the pundits spin it but in the end, there is the truth. That's the feeling I had throughout listening to this book. Mr. Gertz pulled no punches and let the chips fall where the may. This is one of the most enlightening books I've read regarding the modern stance of America in the world today.

Full of falsehoods
What disappointed you about Treachery?
I know this book is a bit dated but I decided to revisit it. With hindsight being 20/20 this was just a propaganda piece.
Would you ever listen to anything by Bill Gertz again?
NO
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alan Sklar?
Alan Sklar wasn't the problem, he was fine.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
As it turned out Gertz wrote this book basically based on interviews with the very characters that we now know weren’t telling the truth to the American public.
Any additional comments?
This is not the first time this has happen and won’t be the last, when will people learn?

Treachery - reactionary is more like it
If you like your news from Fox, you'll like this screed. Intersperced with what probably are some good points and true facts are piles of steaming right wing screed. Everyone that has a different opinion from us is our enemy, and the US never did anything to arm our enemies. What about Rumsfield travelling to Iraq in '89? Where did those weapons come from then? How about the CIA coup of the democratically elected Iran in '53?
If you like your international politics clean and simple, enjoy this tale. Then go get some freedom fries.
