About this listen

On the day she and her mother escaped her cruel father, Emma Washington vowed to never fall in love.

Now, Emma is a back-to-school PhD student with bigger and better things to worry about. That is, until one night, exhausted, slightly tipsy, and on her way home from a party, the glaring white light of a car comes crashing toward her, changing her life forever. Instead of waking up in a 21st-century hospital, she finds herself waking up in the backwaters of London, Victorian England, 1881....

Trapped in a time where everything she once knew is considered witchcraft, Emma discovers that Victorian London is a harsh world for a woman without wealth or status. She faces yet another life-changing twist when she learns her only chance of survival depends on the very thing she has tried to avoid her whole life - marriage. As if that isn’t bad enough, she must betroth herself to none other than the most powerful duke in all of England, the notorious and feared Lord William Blackwell.

But...what begins as a fight for her life might just become a chance to find true love.

Trapped in Time is the first book in the Time Travel Romance series and can be listened to as a stand-alone novel. It follows Isabella, a Victorian lady from one of England's finest houses, who finds herself waking up in the streets of Philly in the 21st century. How is all of this connected? We shall see....

Time travel if only

The story is a non assuming jaunt into romance going back in time by accident...yes it’s been written before and we all suck it up wishing for the simple time with a Lord thrown in with money! Low key story and I enjoyed the narration. I’m sure some may have found her pitch a touch annoying at times. Overall nice to listen to while sun bathing

kind story, nice to listen

Heartwarming and kind, almost believable time shifting situation, even end is more realistic then in some self biographies. :).
Don't look in this piece for lots of drama and action, but just a bit of it. It is a romance about resilience, adaptation without loosing a humanity and moral standarts.
Narration is fitting - main character is totally nicely captured. Male characters not a narriator's strong suite - they dont sound as the young noble guys, but as a very old cranky men with food in their mouth. not much of it in story, so, it didn't spoil it for me.
Was fun and easy to listen book.

Simple and Lovely

I enjoyed the story and the characters. For me, there was just enough drama to keep me interested yet not annoyed. The same for the characters. I want to know each of their stories. A perfect reading for me at this time.

Time Travel my favorite!

Not sure why Amazon best sellers aren’t like this one. Break from the stressful day and having a time. Travel, twisted love life is an amazing concept. The writer job, and it was well written and kept my attention throughout. Please do more like this. If you have one, please send it to me I will read it.

It was ok

The story has a fun premise but it wasn’t executed very well. The narrator was too slow so I had to speed it up to make it sound better: it definitely worked! But still, it was missing something. I wanted to like this one but I can’t help but compare all these time traveling historical romances to “A Knight in Shining Armor “ by Jude Deveraux. That book has ruined all others for me! And no one has come close to that book for me ….. Well, wait .. there is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. 😊 Ok .. besides her, no one has come close to A Knight in Shining Armor.
Anyway .. Even though this book and the second book are supposedly stand-alone stories, the 2nd book got better reviews. I’ll give the next one a chance and see if it’s better.

Fun story, good narration

I actually enjoyed how this story played out. It took me a bit to understand the author's voice. Emma ended up in the past and wanted to do whatever it took to make it home. She was very conscious of the butterfly effect so she used her modern knowledge sparingly. John was such a sweet man but knew his heart quickly. The ending was interesting. This was an audiobook, and Virginia Ferguson did a wonderful job keeping my attention and giving life to Emma, John, and those around them.

I received a copy of the audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
