Outdated and dangerous!!

The techniques mentioned in this book are not only outdated, but they are dangerous for your dog. This book is also an extremely poor quality rip off of other service dog books on Amazon. Seriously skip this one, don’t waste your money!!! Putting this where it belongs, in the trash. Terrible!

Novice generic and even bad advice

Unfortunately no value was found in this book for myself. And a lot of harmful advice for someone who did not know any better.

this book was horrible and contradicting

very opinion based and way to much alpha mentality. I'd swear Cesear Mulan had a hand In tbis. it has little to do with the title, don't waste your money or credits on this book.

Old fashioned view on dog training

The author of this book knows little about contemporary dog training and behavioral science.

Positive reinforcement training is particularly important for the training of a psychiatric service dog as they have to trust you, not fear you. Your sanity and health depends on it.

Worthless

Very outdated! There is no real training information, just old fashioned ideas that are not correct or realistic. This book mostly covers very basic, very poor and incomplete information. There’s not much discussion about actual psychiatric task ideas and training methods. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time on this garbage.

Really?!

Lots of lines like, “how do you fix this? Easy! Training” with zero follow up about how to do said training. Not helpful. Not worth the time.

DO NOT RECOMMEND

As a professional service dog trainer I do not recommend this book, especially to new service dog handlers or people interested in learning about service dogs.
The author gave a lot of false and confusing information (coming from someone who's been training dogs for years) and constantly interchanges Therapy dogs, Emotional Support Dogs, Service Dogs and Pets which are all very different. What little training is discussed in this book are not very accurate or confusing forms of training, for handler and dog.
The author doesn't even talk about task training which handlers would be expecting from a book like this.

lame & completely useless

This has nothing to do with training service dogs & contains really bad advice for dog owners in general. Even the person reading it doesn’t know how to pronounce some of the words. Don’t waste your $4.
