What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

An interesting, well researched story with some mystery involved AND a competent, skillful narrator.

Has To Love and to Kill turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but it has absolutely turned me off from any further book purchases from M William Phelps or read by Noah Michael Levine. When this author first started publishing true crime stories his books were of a better quality. Now he just seems to just throw together his books and his writing style is not enjoyable. He repeats the same information in multiple places and he draws out parts of the story in very uninteresting ways. For instance in this book, a police interrogation went on and on and on and on.... and I kept thinking he must be including all this back and worth because it is relevant. It wasn't. There was no clever police work that we were being privy to... just boring back and forth: "You did it!" "No, I didn't" "Yes, you did!" " No, I didn't" Etc, etc....This is the second book from this author that I have been very disappointed with and I will not go for a third.To make matters worse with this book, the narrator was dreadful. At first , I thought it was the Kindle generated voice, very robotic and odd inflection.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Noah Michael Levine?

The content of this book could have been contained in a magazine article and would have been more compelling and engaging. The telling of this story is repetitive, monotonous and completely disjointed. The narrator's harsh rat-a-tat delivery only made it worse. Trying to listen literally gave me a headache.
