About this listen

From a #1 New York Times bestselling author, the 6:20 Man returns, this time sent to the Pacific Northwest to aid the in a complicated FBI case—and he’s about to come face-to-face with his nemesis, the girl on the train.

Travis Devine has become a pro at accomplishing any mission he's given. But this time it’s not his skills that send him to Seattle to aid the FBI in escorting orphaned, twelve-year-old Betsy Odom to a meeting with her uncle, who’s under federal investigation. Instead, he’s hoping to lay low and keep off the radar of an enemy–the girl on the train.

But as Devine gets to know Betsy, questions begin to arise around the death of her parents. Devine digs for answers, and what he finds points to a conspiracy bigger than he could’ve ever imagined.

It might finally be time for Devine and the girl on the train to come face-to-face. Devine is going to find out the difference between his friends and his enemies–and in some cases, they might well be both.

The book's timeliness and relevance stood out most.

This is a thoughtful, well-written, very believable story set in present day America. It is entertaining and exciting and has a satisfying conclusion.

Okay, pretty good, a little over the top though

There were definitely some really over-the-top moments here that kind of spoiled it for me, but otherwise, it was okay. The female narrator, The Girl on the Train, was pretty annoying. She was trying too hard to be sexy, ugh.
I liked most of the characters, and it was pleasant enough to listen to.

Excellently written story

Travis Devine continues to be one of my favorite Baldacci characters. The story are taut, relevant and well written.

Scary twist

I liked the twist but also scary because of the relevance in our world today. Disturbing as it is a good story and who doesn't like justice and a happy ending.

Captivating

The book kept me listening to see what was happening next. Not sure if this was the writers creative imagination or a playbook he picked up.

SO good.

Across the board Story, performance, and *some* ripped from the headlines parallels with which he always infuses his books. The some refers to the fact that, like in his other (great) books, the parallels are NOT nauseating or boring or too newsy or pointed. Among his very best books and audiobooks. 5 stars across the board!

Smart Aleck Kid in an Adult Would

Narration was pretty good. There are a few surprising moments in the plot. IMO this story was about three hours too. The initial focus was lost and what followed could have been a second novel.
