Service to the poor is embraced by charities all over the world and here Osho exposes this model as one that makes the givers feel good – if not less guilty - about themselves while giving only a temporary respite to the poor and downtrodden.

Humanity is divided in three types of persons: Believers, atheists and agnostics. For Osho, this last type, the agnostic is far above the first two and it is something intrinsic to the true seeker. Nevertheless, there is a fourth type of person, one that does not fit in any of these categories: The Gnostic, the one who knows. The word Christ came into existence 300 years after Jesus; and out of the word Christ developed Christian and Christianity. While Friedrich Nietzsche stated that Christ was the last Christian, according to Osho, Jesus was not only the last Christian, but he was also the first Christian–the first and the last Christian, because in this world no individual is ever repeated.

Osho speaks in response to a question about the right way to help children to grow without interfering in their natural potentiality.

“You are miserable because you have decided to be miserable” – hard words and difficult so see let alone to admit, that our misery is self-created, a strategy, something that we unconsciously cultivate because it works for us; it all allows us to avoid responsibility. And if we are willing to face it and to take responsibility for our misery we are freed from it. As simple as that.

Every morning when you wake up, you become aware and your dreams disappear. You can do the same thing with the endless dreaming of your mind - the dreams that nourish your ego. This capacity to be aware, to witness, is already yours. It is nourished by celebration. Celebration helps you become more sensitive and more alert to life. Don't invest in misery, invest in celebration.

Being loose and natural will give you a spontaneous awareness, rather than making an effort to reach a certain goal. No effort is going to succeed because the cause of all misery is the doer, the ego, our idea of self. Osho only teaches awareness. Suppression is not the way to buddhahood. Simply relax and be whatsoever you are - and awareness will come by itself.

According to Osho striving for perfection is the root cause of all neurosis. We try to be perfect, we want our partner and our children to be perfect our pets and our projects all to be perfect and in so doing we create life-long inner tension. Here Osho explains a natural way of being, a way of being in tune with nature’s imperfection.

Responses to a question on how to explore the higher states of consciousness. According to Osho there are not many ways to explore higher levels of consciousness, there is but one: the way of awareness. "Man is almost unconscious. I say “almost” - there are moments, situations where he becomes conscious, but they are momentary."
