Publisher's summary

The golden angel who swooped in to save me from a nightmare first date turns out to be a billionaire vulture circling the company I work for.

Carter Kingsley: My savior and ruthless corporate raider hell bent on destroying the newspaper I love. Oh, and my new boss.

His first order of business? Cut half the staff. I should hate him. Easy, right?

Wrong.

I met him two weeks ago, when he saved me from the most awkward first date of my life. I was looking for a way out when he strolled up in a ten-thousand dollar suit with a winning smile, and told a white lie that turned the date from hell into heavenly bliss.

I left with his number in my phone, and spent the next two weeks staying up late to text him. He's charming. Funny. Sincere.

Completely unlike the ruthless villain who comes in and carves us up.

My first order of business is to interview the new boss. But who is sitting on the other side of the desk? The man who saved and charmed me, or the one who's threatening everything I hold dear?

Carter insists that we can still be friends, but I know that the whole situation is a ticking time bomb.

Good story

The story could have been told better with a better female narrator because she is sort of wooden and stiff with not much expressions. The narrators are suppose to express the story for the writer. Other than wanting to here how the story panned out I would not have finished.

Male narrator

The narrators were great, but the male was absolutely amazing! The man took the very spicy female voice and events to a whole new level. Never have I heard a male narrator get so into the story before! 5/5!

They just keep getting better.

This was super sweet. This whole series is so romantic. I am almost sad to listen to the last one but I must.

Enjoyable book in the series

I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't my top book in the series. It was slow in a few spots and the female narrator was a little off for me. That being said, I would still recommend the book.

I liked how two people from different worlds came together slowly getting past their problems.

I Adore Carter!!!

I don’t think there has been one book in this entire series that I haven’t enjoyed. Every time I read one I tell myself that the “boss” in the story is my favorite. Well, Carter is now my favorite. I liked the fact that he was just a nice guy from the very beginning when he meets Audrey. Their banter was really cute and so much fun. I love that their relationship just grew from friendship texting to lovers. Even when she finds out he is the man who might destroy the company she loves so much, they are still able to maintain a friendship.

What is fun is also the fact that all the other characters from the other books have cameos in this one. Even though this is a standalone, I would encourage you to read the series from the very beginning to get a feeling of all these characters. You will understand why I think Carter is one of the most kind bosses of the group. He’s very easy to like, and when he does mess up, it’s not because he’s being a complete jerk. I love, LOVE, LOVE him.

I also really liked Audrey. I liked her passion, truthfulness, and integrity. She was also very kind and a hard worker. She didn’t back down from saying what she believed in spite of the possibility of losing her job for it. Their story and happily ever after made you smile.

Maxine did an amazing job as Audrey, and Mercer did a great job as Carter. The only problem is that Mercer sounds very silly when he does Audrey’s voice. I realize it’s hard for most men to use the voice of a woman, but it was hard to listen to. Still, I recommend this audiobook because the story is so great and I love Carter.

The series

I’ve read the entire series and loved them all, but this couple was so great!
I may not have read the one about the oldest winter brother though. What is the title of that book.

Good but Predictable

The first 3 books were free and each was better than this one. It’s a good story, but all of the twists were predictable.
