Publisher's summary

No matter where you are or who you are with, Jesus wants to include you in what he’s doing in the world. He genuinely enjoys being with you and his great delight is for you to join him as he reveals the reality of his love to others. All of life is an opportunity!

In Threads, you’ll find how disciple making can be woven like threads into every aspect of your life, your family, and your church. The approach is biblical, life-giving, and reproducible. It's all about learning to genuinely enjoy and follow Jesus in a way that we can show others.

  • If you’re a disciple maker, you’ll find a way of discipling that is more life-giving and less driven by content and structure. You’ll find people you disciple actually enjoying Jesus and eager to follow him in making disciples.
  • If you’re a pastor, you’ll discover how to weave disciple making into every context of the church. Your large gathering, children’s/student ministry, small groups—even your staff meeting—will have common threads of disciple making powerfully present.
  • If you’re a parent, you’ll find practical and meaningful ways to weave disciple making into your family in a way that helps your children experience the very real presence of Jesus.

Disciples make more disciple makers

I have personally worked with some of the leaders in Kirks church. I so appreciate the focus that Kirks team has on hearing from and acting on what Jesus says, and this is true for each and every follower of Christ.

I also know that this team is committed to making discipleship accessible for every single man, woman, and child who wants to follow Jesus. The simple process in the pages of this book have been proven to work in some of the hardest to reach cultures on the face of the Earth. Here, Kirk helps make these simple and powerful ancient pathways of Jesus and the early church available to all Christ followers.

I love and appreciate the humility Kirk has in expressing how Jesus has convicted him in a good way, and shown him that true discipleship involves helping people follow Jesus and share that faith with others, in such a way that those people are able to go on and help others to do the same. In short, true disciples make and multiply more disciple makers. It’s not a program or an event, it is a lifestyle and relational connection with other people in our relational network in whom the spirit of God is moving.

I would highly recommend this book for any Christ follower who wants to experience Jesus speaking to them and using their life in this generation. It is also great for the pastor or Christian leader, who would like to help the people they lead and shepherd, become more like Christ, and help them get the sense that God wants to use their lives as well to help others follow Jesus and make more disciples of all the nations .
