Thane

I’ve been told I’m beautiful to look at, but I’m a monster all the same. Barely contained. Terrifying now that the thirst is upon me.

I’m a beast king, and that comes with its pros and cons.

Big con: I have to take a bride. It’s built into my DNA. We all reach a point where the drive kicks in.

I thought I still had time. I was wrong. I need to find her. The one.

A vampiress whose blood will quench me. The hunt is on. If I don’t find her soon, I’ll be put down like a rabid dog, leaving my throne to my greatest enemy: my rival by blood. And that can’t happen.

Bellicent

What happens in the dark stays in the dark…or so I thought.

I’m a half-blood. More human than vampire. A weakling. A circus trick only good for being used and abused.

When the vampire king shows interest in me, I tell him where to get off…then I spend the night with him. Don’t judge me! Who wouldn’t leap at the opportunity? He’s the most eligible bachelor on the planet and is known to be picky about who he spends time with.

The king also happens to be my family’s greatest rival. It’s a feud that spans centuries. Think of the Capulets and Montagues, only so much worse.

Last night was a moment of weakness; a night I don’t regret! Thane is more of a beast than I ever imagined.

My brother will pop a vein if he ever finds out what I did. He thinks he can run every aspect of my life, but he’s wrong. I will follow the two rules that have been drummed into me since childhood...and those two rules only! To keep the peace, I’d prefer it if Zale never found out about last night. He’d make my life a living hell.

Then, the king shows up on my doorstep again. Everything I’ve ever known to be true starts to unravel. It all gets turned on its head. I’m not sure who my real enemies are anymore...

Thirst is the first book in a series about monsters of all kinds. If you like enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, sassy heroines, and swoon-worthy beast kings who are almost untamable, then this is the series for you.

Bell is half human and half vampire..told she can’t marry or have children. Thank and Bell meet, shortlisted afterwards Tjane realized Bell is his mate
There are themes of Romeo and Juliet, keeping blood clean, possible madness, keep supernaturals a secret and secrets kept
The story was fun, entertaining and I enjoyed the story
I loved the female narrator but didn’t care for the male, he didn’t sound right for the part and the female narrator’s male voice was better
All in all a great beginning to a series
This is a favorite paranormal author of mine.

Love the Story

I greatly prefer my steam mix with true love and this book delivers. I also love love paranormal words with many different species instead of just vampires or just werewolves. This book provides variety. I like the female narrator’s enthusiasm, but the male narrator sounds like he needs some sinus medicine and almost sounds like his “female” voice is making fun of women by being too pitchy and whiny. I hope that it’s a coincidence. However, I really liked the story and will will continue the series.

Great story

I love the story and the female narrator but I really didn’t like the male narrator. It’s not his voice but the way he reads the story. It’s like listening to old time radio stories were the narrators were really dramatic. I’ve heard him read other books and it’s the same way with those. Just not my style but otherwise I loved the book.

Decent story. Poor male voice.

Ever try getting into a fantasy romance where the female voice is one point and male voice sounds like an American game show host? Ya, way kills it. I wish they would of just had the chick do the whole thing bc her choice of voice for the male characters was good. I seriously hesitate to get the next book when it comes out because they have the same male voice actor.

Thirst review

I found the story to be good and easy to listen to. One thing I would critique would be the sound performance from Tristan James was a bit dull, as opposed to how Meg Price’s voice sounded, her performance was amazing.

Male narrator is horrible!

I liked the book…male narrator’s voice is irritating at best. He sounded the worse when he was portraying the male character!

Vampire king needs fated mate!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚🖤
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😊😄😘🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Thane Nocturnus - he is the vampire king in a world where supernatural beings have to keep their secrets from humans. Vampires only feed from other vampires and it is against the law to feed from humans. When the thirst comes upon Thane, it is a sign that he needs to find his fated mate or he would go crazy and either die soon and/or be a danger to others. No vampire will be able to quench his thirst other than his fated mate, so he had no choice but to find her.

The heroine: Bellicent Deluca - she is only half vampire, the product of an illegal mating between her vampire mother and a human man. She has known her entire life that she was different and an object of shame to her family and especially her brother who is next in line to be king. Her family used to hold the throne, but now their rivals hold it, and her brother watches over her to make sure she doesn’t do anything to shame the family more. The council had determined at her birth that to keep the vampire race pure, she was not allowed to get married or have children. So Bellicent runs a cat rescue and runs a clothing business rather than living off the wealth of her family.

The Story: When Thane and Bellicent meet at an event, he soon realizes that her blood fills him much more than any other, though he is not happy to learn that she is from his rival's family. When he confirms she is his fated mate, he is not surprised that her brother is against the match. Bell finds out that her family has been lying to her about many things and Thane helps her track down the lies and find out what they have been hiding.

This was actually a very good story that really held my interest. It had an original plot and great characters. Bellicent’s family was very hard on her and I liked that Thane was so supportive of her throughout the story. At first, she thought Thane just wanted her for her blood. But the chemistry between them couldn’t be denied. I liked the mystery of the secrets Bell’s family was keeping.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Tristan James and Meg Price. Tristan James has a very nice, deep voice. Though I don’t really like his female voice. That is the problem with dual narration where the male has to do female voices and vice versa. Meg price has a nice voice and is able to show emotion through her voice.

Funny

I laughed out loud throughout the entire book. Tristan is what I call a frantic narrator; his voice always sounds like he is on high; didn’t mind it a bit, his voice added to the humor. Meg was on point with narration. The storyline was interesting and held my attention. Plan to listen to the entire series.

Love this author

Another great story. The male narrator was very stilted and it detracted from the experience a little. The sex scenes make me fan my face.
