About this listen

Successful matchmaker Brianagh O'Rourke believes in happily ever afters...just not her own. She's convinced passion exists only in her dreams. When she reluctantly accepts a marriage proposal, Bri decides she needs a vacation - but she doesn't expect it to be in 15th-century Ireland.

Laird Nioclas MacWilliam just wants peace for his clan. The time for him to marry has come, and after waiting years for his ally to present their daughter, he's agreed to marry another. But on the eve of his nuptials, a daring rescue brings his missing betrothed right into his arms. And she does not want to be there.

Brianagh has to return to the future. Nioclas has to marry. He offers a solution for the both of them: She marries him and stays for three months, and they work together to convince his clan they are a love match. In return he vows to safely return her home. But as the days turn to weeks, they both begin to see what a happily ever after could be. And when the time comes, does Brianagh return to the life she's built, or does she remain in the past for a chance at true love?

Cute story, but not well written.

Between the narrator making constant dramatic pauses at the end of every sentence to the story bouncing around without leading up to the next scene, this book was just ok. I love time travel books, but this one wasn't a favorite. The storyline has potential; however, the writing seemed very immature.

Meh.....I I'm on the fence with this one.

the storyline was fairly weak. The narrator was entertaining. I just did not do to me what the other books do

Don't think she expected the adventure

Great story!!! Very savvy business woman meets ancient Irish warrior!!! Man of her dreams!!! Loved how she righted his castle in no time at all!!! She found her niche real fast!!!
Was hard for me to understand her parents not being more happy to see her but... overlooked that!!! different times and different cultures I guess!! Over all the love story was spectacular!!!
Jane did an excellent job reading and love listening to her!!

A good clean read! Great find.

I know there are people that want vicarious sex but I neither want or need porn in my life. This was a healthy balance of romance and great story. Hard to find good reads.

Wonderful book and series!

I love how the true story is told. A lot of romance books are filled with long sex scenes, but not a lot of real story. I can't wait to hear Claire's story and I hope James gets another chance at love.

Good Time Travel IRISH Love Story

Where does The Winter Laird rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Within the top 30 ( I have listened to quite a lot of these books). It is nice to have a time travel romance in IRELAND instead of Scotland. The market is swamped with Scotland. This was a great story and I will definately listen to it again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reily.....I love this tough man that raised Brianagh. I especially like it when Reily makes her change her clothes and Brianagh thinks he is a reenactment GEEK. I love the method Brianagh arrives in the past. Once she arrives in the past she wants to return to the future, Reily scoots away leaving the castle to make Brianagh stay. Of course, Nicholas is jealous of Reily and Reily does his best to irritate Nicholas.

Any additional comments?

I really kept expecting them to declare Brianagh a witch. I like the way this was avoided. Everyone in the Castle and township just loves her so much. Nicholas' father goes beyond being an an enemy. I just love the fate in store for him....he really got what he deserved.

When Brianagh returns to the future, she sees what happens in the past. She goes back and re-changes history. There is no long drawn out reason for the history changes, which is a relief.

WOW!!!

I have read all 4 of her novels this week...
These time travel series is exceptionally written as well. Keeps the reader wanting more and Just when you Think Rylie can't be more of an aRse... well..
Anyways, I highly recommend you get all 4 of The Mists of Fate series and start with The Winter Laird, then An Enchanted Spring, Once upon a Summer night and Falling through time ALL while keeping track of Claire. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT NOVEL!!!
