Enjoyable read (listen)

This book was enjoyable since I have finished my favorite small town series- At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon. I plan to listen to the next one.

This is a great book. It was well read and an easy to follow plot line! I once knew a couple of Bridies in my day!

Would that it were possible!

Any additional comments?

I feel very mixed about this book. On one level the characters just didn't feel real or well developed in a believable way. The story line was filled with quick fixes and pat answers to all the troubles in the small VERY closely knit community in the story. The people were quirky-- in helpful but not always kind ways. On the other hand I was drawn in and wanted to see how the book ended. To me, in the end, it was just a string of meddlesome and often edgy interaction. With a strong dash of judgmental--I know what is best for everyone kind of tone. In life I think it would be surprising to find such an involved and connected community. I'm not sure it would be a place that I would like to be part of-- if it was probable or even possible.

Wholesome and delightful fun!

What a great story! Well written with lots of humor as well as outright hysterically funny at times. Very wholesome. May fall under the banner of Christian Fiction, which is just fine by me! I am not a Christian but really appreciate these kinds of books. They tell a good story in a fine upstanding way. The narrator was great too, by the way. The perfect choice for this story.

Very clean and sweet.

This book was very refreshing. Nobody died, there’s no cussing, no wars were started. It’s a very sweet, feel good listen.

A fun listen-kind of like Mayberry!

First of all, the characters are so likable and engaging. You are immediately introduced to the main character who is like a young “Father Tim” from Jan Karon’s series. It’s a charming story and performed in a pleasant voice.

If you like Jan Karon you will like this.

For a clean, easy-listening book try this one.
