About this listen

AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Real men fought for our freedoms. It’s time we fought for theirs.

Pete Hegseth joined the Army to fight extremists. Then that same Army called him one. The military Pete joined twenty years ago was fiercely focused on lethality, competency, and color blindness. Today our brass are following the rest of our country off the cliff of cultural chaos and weakness.

Americans with common sense are fighting this on many fronts, but if we can’t save the meritocracy of our military, we’re definitely going to lose everywhere else.

The War on Warriors uncovers the deep roots of our dysfunction—a society that has forgotten the men who take risks, cut through red tape, and get their hands dirty. The only kind of men prepared to face the dangers that the Left pretends don’t exist. Unlike issues of education or taxes or crime, this problem doesn’t have a zip code solution. We can’t move away from it. We can’t avoid it. We have only one Pentagon. Either we take it back or surrender it altogether.

Combining his own war experiences, tales of outrage, and an incisive look at how the chain of command got so kinked, this book is the key to saving our warriors—and winning future wars. The War on Warriors must be won by the good guys, because when the shooting really starts, they’re the only ones who can save us.

The unabashed and fearless honesty!

Pete doesn't sugarcoat it. He speaks from his heart honestly and with experience. I'm a 23-year retired NCO combat vet and this is one of the reasons I got out. It kills me to see what's happening to my military. Excuse me I mean our military. I'm extremely worried if something doesn't happen soon to fix it. Amazing book Pete, keep speaking honestly. You speak for a lot of us that don't have your podium.

Unbelievable how our modern day military has gone DEI priority.

This is a great book exposing some of our top modern day military leaders from our Commander in Chief J.B. to some Generals under this administration focusing on DEI instead of military readiness and how it is slowly deleting the men who categorically would want to join the U.S. military just to make a cultural change within the military. These men and women have changed the ethos of our military into something that prioritizes inclusion and not necessarily the best qualified for the position or rank in our modern day military. Use to use blind test as to promotions ( only factor was best qualified) but now skin color, gender and gender ideology are qualifying factors and not so much “ best” qualified. This book goes into detail on how the current military is actively fighting the warriors of the past to leave the military as they don’t fit in today’s military ethos. How sad.

Truth Bomb

As a combat veteran myself, this book resonated with me on an unprecedented level. I have witnessed firsthand some of the woke ideologies that began to plague our military back in 2012. Hegseth does not attack the left liberal agenda in this book directly; instead he forces those who have sat idly by while watching it happen to take a second look at their inaction as the military has allowed itself to adopt such ideologies.
I found myself agreeing with Hegseth on almost every single matter and couldn’t have stated the issues better myself. We need more Americans that care about protecting the constitution and not their individualism in our military. The military is not the place for individualism, it is a place for cohesion. Racism was not prevalent when I served and that seems to be the general consensus across the board of veterans. I say this because I have good friends who I relied on in combat who come from all sorts of backgrounds. I have no greater respect for any veteran than my staff sergeant at the time Jimmy Lopera, a Colombian, because he showed no fear in the face of direct enemy fire as bullets danced around our feet. That one moment gave me the courage to face everything that came afterwards. I owe a great portion of my mindset to him and I may not be alive if he wasn’t with us. I also relied on two black brothers from Philly that grew up together, Romaine Hastings and David Miles. They were my roommates and battle buddies in combat. I wouldn’t have felt safe without them by my side either. The idea that our military is inherently racist and needs to perform DEI and CRT training is ridiculous and a waste of time when they should be training for combat. These classes take away precious time that our troops use to become united instead of forcing them to question their fellow troops when the mission is on the line. 10/10 for The War On Warriors. Pete Hegseth tells us how it is with no racial bias and his political bias is that of someone with common sense and integrity.

From a retired veteran

This book is well worth the read or listen to. I retired from the USAF/Air National Guard in 2011 and just retired in 2024 from being a police officer. You are 100% right on the wokeness that’s out there in our communities and we need leadership to stand up against these tyrants. I want to spend a few more years as a police officer, but after 20 years and now having a look at every situation on, am I gonna get sued am I gonna get fired? It is not worth it. Thanks for a great book and thanks for your
sacrifice to our country.

Excellent review of the sad destruction of our military.

My title says it all. I am a Major in the US Army, with 17 years of service. I have served all over the world for the US military to include a combat tour in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne. Pete is telling the truth of what has/is happening to our military. It's a sad state of affairs. Our leaders have failed us.
