Publisher's summary

There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly?

Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.

Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist....

YA Love Triangle that Works

The Vincent Boys is a coming of age romance set in small town Alabama, the summer before the hero & heroine's senior year. I liked it for a variety of reasons, the first of which is that it's a good story with strong characters in Beau, Ashton and Sawyer. Beau and Ashton's romance is the primary focus, naturally, but Beau's relationship with Sawyer, Ashton's friendship with both, Ashton's values as a daughter of the local Baptist minister and Beau's relationship of the local barmaid are just a few of the meaty subplots. None of these felt unnatural, rushed or a distraction to the main story. The only piece of the story that did make me uncomfortable is that Beau and Ashton first take up while her boyfriend, Sawyer, is camping with his family. (That's not a spoiler, it's the big point of the first third of the book.) I'm not a fan of cheating and especially here. I almost couldn't finish the story. After putting it aside a couple of times, I was glad I finished it - there's a really satisfying ending and a solid set up for the sequel (Sawyer's story).

I listened to The Vincent Boys as an Audible book (this review is posted on Goodreads, Amazon & my blog). The narrators were a mixed bag for me, with the female narrator (Shayna Thibodeaux) doing a fabulous job and the male (Kirby Heyborn), not so much. To be fair, some of the other reviewers having the opposite response - sample the book on Audible before you buy. I even liked Ms Thibodeaux's narration of male voices better than Mr Heyborn's but the story's changing POVs required two narrators. I'd be willing to listen to other books narrated by Ms Thibodeaux. Both narrate the sequel, The Vincent Brothers, and I plan on listening to it as well.

YA is not normally my thing but I like Abbi Glines and wanted to give the series a whirl. I'm giving it a 4 star write up, because it's so well written, even if it's not entirely my cuppa tea. There's a lot of references to sex, but not much action (they ARE in high school, after all, and Ashton is a preacher's daughter) and very little profanity. If I had a teenage daughter, I wouldn't have any concern about her reading this.

Love this series

The audio book was good but The person who was the voice of Bo sounded way to old. Authors need to really make sure voices sound like the character they portray.

another 5 star book by abbi glines, I loved rosemary beach and seabreeze series. as well as what I've read the field part series. I fell in love with style of writing and the stories but the Vincent boys were each so different and special to Ashton. I cant wait to move on to the. next book
