What listeners say about The Truth Is out There

Highly rated for:

The Audiobook Contains A Collection Of Short Stories Set In The X-files Universe, With Some Stories Standing Out As Strong And Enjoyable While Others Are Mediocre Or Lackluster. Many Of The Stories Capture The Familiar Elements And Themes From The Tv Series Like Alien Abductions, Haunted Houses, Weird Science Experiments Gone Wrong, And The Occasional Gruesome Death. However, Some Stories Suffer From Out-of-character Portrayals Or Premises That Feel Too Ridiculous Even For The X-files. Overall, It Provides A Mixed Bag Of Stories That Will Satisfy Fans Looking For New Cases, Though The Quality Is Inconsistent.

great stories but,

the female narrator is awful. She can't do make choices and she needs to stop. Please stop.

The Truth is Out There

While not quite as good as the first instalment this is a damn good anthology. It’s like a good season of the X-Files. Some are going to be spooky, some fun, one forgettable, but all in all a satisfying listen. If you liked the show I suggest this book.

Frohike

The character's name is pronounced Fro-hick-ee, not Fro-hike. C'mon, now. Do your research. Also, why not a Lone Gunmen focused story? Overall great

X Files Nostalgia

This is the second in the trilogy of X Files short stories edited by Jonathan Maberry. As with most series of this type, you get a mixed bag of stories authored by different writers. While every story was not top notch, most were, and I found them all entertaining. Bronson Pinchot and Hillary Huber return as the narrators. While both do fine jobs with the narratives, I continue to give Mr. Pinchot the nod for his right on deadpan delivery of Fox Mulder. Although he is not attempting to imitate David Duchovny, his voice does allow you to see Duchovny in your head. Ms. Huber is fine as Scully, but struggles IMO with the Mulder voice.

Overall, this is a fun trip into the mostly early days of the X Files with all the requisite characters and quirky storylines. Bravo....I am on to the third in the series in due time.

Next Level X-Files

Great stories. I loved how each chapter is a new story/episode. Kind of creepy to fall asleep to but just pure awesomeness!

Fun revisit to a well-loved show

Excellect individual stories in the anthology. None are retellings of the original; new fair to all.

Naration is excellect and stories fun.

Not as good as first one but still worth a listen

The stories were not as memorable to me as the first anthology. However the narration was stellar.
