In these turbulent times, when the very foundations of organizations and societies are being shaken, leaders need to move beyond the pessimistic predictions, the trendy fads, and the simplistic solutions. They need to turn to what’s real and what’s proven, to understand what the evidence tells us about how exemplary leaders get extraordinary things done. This is the imperative that best-selling, award-winning authors James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner have undertaken in their engaging, personal, and bold new audiobook, The Truth About Leadership.

Based on 30 years of research - and more than one million responses to Kouzes and Posner’s leadership assessment - this all-new work explores the fundamental, enduring truths of leadership that hold constant regardless of context or circumstance. In ten time-tested truths, Kouzes and Posner reveal what all leaders must know, the questions they must be prepared to answer, and the real-world issues they will likely face.

For nearly three decades, Kouzes and Posner’s The Leadership Challenge has helped people discover and develop their leadership potential. The Truth About Leadership will show emerging leaders the heart of leadership and what they need to know to be effective; fans of The Leadership Challenge will find a dynamic new look at what it means to lead today. This is a book leaders can use to do their real and necessary work - bringing about the essential changes that will renew organizations and communities.

Top notch, proven leadership principles based upon feedback from leaders around the world - this is now one of my go-to books for people who want to learn about true leadership. Thank you for the incredible work!

What did you love best about The Truth About Leadership?

This book was very informative and helpful to me as the owner of a small business. I have not read the authors' other, primary, work "The Leadership Challenge," but suspect that much of what is contained in "The Truth About Leadership" is a summary of what is contained in the other. I am now interested in reading The Leadership Challenge and in learning more, which is a strong recommendation for the book. However, if you're already familiar with the main work it is possible that the material would be redundant.

Worthwhile and Succinct

I've read a lot of stuff on leadership and management, and Kouzes and Posner's book is worth listening to—well organized, thoroughly researched and documented, with a lot of clearly defined main points and principles. The only thing I really don't care for is the narrator's voice. It's pleasant, but it's too uniform and detached from the material. It sounds like he's just reading the book, albeit well and clearly, but without any involvement in the content. And with a book like this, passion and involvement are real pluses.Contrast this presentation with anything by Stephen Covey (7 Habits), who writes and narrates his own books, and you'll hear what I mean.

Good Information; Presentation—Not So Much

Short and insightful, well narrated and pitched at the right level. Useful anecdotes are used to illustrate and enforce key points.

Some really valuable things taught. Not an amazing book by any means, nor life changing. But it was solid
