Acerca de esta escucha

Either you're in or you're out.

Welcome to the Thrashers, the elite friend group at New Helvetia High.

They’re everything everyone wants to be.

Jodi Dillon was never meant to be one of them. Julian, Lucy, Paige, and the infamous Zack Thrasher are rich, sophisticated, and love attention. Jodi feels out of place, but Zack’s her childhood best friend, so she’s in.

Then Emily Mills, who desperately wanted to be a Thrasher, dies—and the whispers about the Thrashers begin. As Emily’s journal surfaces, detectives close in, and Jodi faces an impossible choice: betray her friends or protect herself.

But as eerie messages and strange occurrences escalate, it becomes clear—Emily isn’t done with them yet.

A twisty thrill-ride of unforgettable drama and suspense that "encapsulates the vulnerability of adolescents playing adult games" (Ali Hazelwood) from USA Today bestselling author Julie Soto, The Thrashers will keep you up at night desperate to listen to just five more minutes.

"A tour-de-force YA debut from Julie Soto."—Alexa Donne

"For fans of Karen McManus and Kara Thomas, The Thrashers had me holding my breath, sweaty-palming my e-reader, and dying to flip each page to see what would happen next."—Susan Lee

"Expertly plotted and full of flawed, morally gray characters you still can't help rooting for, The Thrashers is one of the best books I've read this year."—Evelyn Skye

"A haunting page-turner that smartly explores the complexities of teenage relationships and feelings of self-worth."—Kirkus (Starred Review)

“A deeply important book by my favorite writer. Julie Soto is a master at characterization. THE THRASHERS encapsulates the vulnerability of adolescents playing adult games. As a reader, you oscillate between playing into the mob and questioning where you land on a larger moral scale.”—Ali Hazelwood, #1 New York Times bestselling author

“An aching portrait of disparate friendship, high school hierarchy, and the ghosts that haunt us—figuratively and literally. This unsettling, pulse-pounding page-turner will leave you desperate for a sequel. A tour-de-force YA debut from Julie Soto and the perfect slow-burn, creeping suspense read for fans of Nova Ren Suma and Marisha Pessl.”—Alexa Donne, author of The Ivies, Pretty Dead Queens, and The Bitter End

The Thrashers is so much more than a gripping, heart-in-your-throat thriller — it's a class commentary with a deeply emotional center that brought me right back to high school. I absolutely inhaled it! The writing is razor sharp, the twists are unpredictable, and the characters are phenomenally layered. Julie Soto is a thoughtful, confident storyteller, no matter the genre.” – Rachel Lynn Solomon, New York Times bestselling author of See You Yesterday and Today, Tonight, Tomorrow

I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I got sucked in by this YA thriller. Julie Soto did a wonderful job immersing me into this captivating young adult world without any cringy-too-young moments. The mystery kept me guessing until the end.

Well Done YA Thriller

This drew me in and had me addicted to seeing what was going to happen. Sometimes it is hard to recognize what we don’t like in others am really be more about what we don’t like in ourselves.

Haunting quick read

I read this in less than 24 hours. Julie just has a way with writing characters that are deep, unreliable, and incredibly relatable. The pacing was fantastic—I didn’t want to stop reading! It reminded me of why I loved Pretty Little Liars, especially with those fun paranormal twists. That ending has me reeling… please let there be a sequel because I’m not okay!

Addictive!

This had it all! It was action packed and so entertaining. I didn’t see the twists coming.

The Twists I didn’t see coming!

I’m speechless, thrillers always cause me anxiety, whether it’s a book or a movie, I tend to nawl my nails raw. The Trasher’s is no exception. This novel is well developed, at every turn and each hint, it kept me in suspense. I kept guessing at who caused Emily to kill herself. None of my theories were correct. Julie Soto you’ve out done yourself, I can usually guess at an ending but not here. I love it, even my throbbing nawled fingernails.

A real thriller

The book started out so good, but then kind of fell off. I was really excited and read it the night I got it and was so thrilled. Then it kept going and several of the characters kind of blurred together, until I didn't really care anymore. The ending was a bit of a let down for me. I'm still glad I read it, but I don't think I will read it again.

Not the worst, but not the best.
