About this listen

Latvian Border Region: A policewoman finds something terrifying. Deep in the forests along the border is proof of a massive Russian invasion plan.

US Embassy, Berlin: Someone is trying desperately to get a message to the CIA. But Kremlin assassins have been activated across three countries to stop them.

New York, USA: A Kremlin sleeper agent is activated with very precise instructions.

The Kremlin has set its plans in motion. Its goal is nothing short of reestablishing the entire USSR, and it is willing to risk World War III in the process. There is only one man who can stop it. But they fear it will cost him his life.

The Target by Saul Herzog is the stunning third instalment in the series that has single-handedly taken the publishing industry and Hollywood rights departments by storm. This dazzling tour de force kicks off right where the second book ended. From the mind of one of the most creative and versatile writers working in America today, this book will surely go down as a classic of the spy thriller genre.

If you listen to only one audiobook this year, this is it. Action, adventure, rebellion, provocative foreign agents, characters you can sink your teeth into. If you're looking for a new spy thriller series that will stay with you, look no further.

Recommended for fans of Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne, and Brad Thor's Scot Harvath.

The best of the best

I’ve fallen in love with this guy’s writing. He truly gets the purpose of fiction. Fiction, whose greatest onus is to tell the truth. Good fiction is like a parable. Herzog transplants past events into the modern era and reminds us of what horrors are not only possible, but have been reality. His words don’t dare us to forget. Yet we dare not. An author who gives us entertainment, suspense, clarity, and best of all, heart. Already started on the next sequel. Deede Blake, author of

Another masterpiece of realistic, compelling, page turning fiction.

This was my 2nd Sal Herzog book . I didn’t know if anything’ could surpass my initial read but this splendid followup was even more compelling. I’m hooked and will be looking forward to the next iteration of Lance Spector.

Series going strong

I’ve kept through this third part and listening often. Some nights instead of turning on the tv. Well thought out

Always good reading or listening

We really like the Lance Spector series. Book 3 is just as good as both previous books. I don’t know how the author, Saul Herzog, can keep coming up with these plots! Excellent listening and thanks to the narrator for that. Believe it or not a narrator that is good is just priceless. Waiting on audible now so we can listen to The Sleeper!

The discriminations that was entertaining and enlightening

This book had me unable to put it down. The ending was great and you had me going one way in thinking how it would end Then you blue my mind in the ending and the beguping to come, I thank you for the history that I was unaware of. I’m stopping now so I can get your next in this series.

A must read but start w book 1

I am glad I didn't bounce around this series ad I have some others. Pivotal aspects of the plot only make sense if you read in order. My new favorite author! And I am a picky reviewer

Page turner

There were a few spots that made me remember this wasn’t real, and the change in Lance’s drawl was hard to get past at first. BUT I loved this book. I stayed up late listening and it took me away on the long commutes. Thank you.
