Loss and Light

there is so much in this that made me tear up, and yet I am still left with a little hope at the end.

Definitely worth the read (review 2.0)

Just so everyone knows, I did a review before this, but audible of course had to be frustrating and they wouldn’t let me edit my review, so this is my review 2.0.
I’ve had high expectations from the start, about Dawn of the Clans/DotC since the great things I’ve heard about them, so I decided to give the prequel arc a try.

I am not a fan of Macleod Andrews, as whenever he voices kits he has this sugary sweet high pitched voice,
And when he voices she-cats they have this straining high tone.
I do however like the voice he has for Clear sky, but I imagine Clear sky to have Steve Buscemi’s voice.

**BEWARE! SPOILERS! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK**

Since I am too lazy to write a full review, I will just say my favorite parts of the book.
When fluttering bird died, I almost cried.
I literally almost had to hold in a sob, as Clear sky basically had a mental breakdown when he was told that she was dead.
Same thing but a little less with Bright streams death.
Still, I felt so sad for Clear sky both times, as the deaths were far more impacting on him than Gray wing.
Want proof? Here:

Sure Gray wing witnessed Fluttering bird’s death, but imagine if you were Clear sky, you just come back to the cave with some prey,
And you are told your sister is dead.

The Dawn of the Clans, sort of....

I have been reading books from the Warriors franchise since Into the Wild was released. This would have to be the hardest themes that Kate and Cherith (the actual authors) have thrown at us. I found myself crying, screaming, and excited throughout.

You do not interact with any characters we have previously known, since these books are a prequel to the other series. You do get setting from the first series though! This had to be my favorite part, watching the cats travel and constantling trying to guess by the surrounding where they were.

I have binge read the next two books and will continue to add reviews, so look out for that if you want an on going opinion.

Same narrator as all the other novels, so it begins to feel like a father reading instead of the character narrating. The kittens voice is hard to swallow, but hang in there.

The last chapter forced me to buy the next book instantly, so beware if you can't afford two books currently.

The kitten's voice is annoying, but gets much better in later books.

These books deal a lot with parental abuse, so be weary if that hits a personal heart string.

This book is light on the heartache compared to the next two. If you have a hard time emotionally getting through this, I would not suggest you continue. Thankfully the other series have different themes and you should be able to find one you can connect with in a good way.

It’s a big loop

They go from the lake to the mountains. They go from the mountains to the forest. And in the new prophecy, they went back to the lake

Follow the rising sun

I like this book a lot!
The story is good. I like how the cats journey from the Rushing Water Cavern to the Forest Territory. Clear sky is not so nice though. ( spoiler alert) I mean, who would kick his own brother out of a clan just because his leg was taking a long time to heal!
Graywing is a really nice character. I deal like he does handle himself okay, but puts to much pressure on himself for not being able to keep Brightstream from getting carried away. In conclusion, this book is really good. I recommend it for cat lovers and people seeking adventurous books. I also like the fact that the cats Of The Rushing Water Cavern used to live at the lake, and that the cats who lived in the forest did the same. I hope that anyone who reads this book will like it. Erin Hunter is the best!

This should be the FIRST warriors series you read

It talks about how the clans started and guess whose the stary dead warrior's?
StarClan! 😄 but I really wish shadedmoss, flutteringbird, and brightstream...didn't die.
But besides the deaths this story was truly great!

Not bad

This book is great I loved how detailed it was but the quality could be a little bit better. But over all Erin Hunter is a great author and warriors is a great book series.
