Publisher's summary

Wife. Mother. Homemaker. Detective. Kit Forge wears many hats, and if that’s not enough, she’s partnered with her father to open a new detective agency. It’s hard to be all things to all people, but Kit never shies away from the impossible. Despite her hard work and good intentions, some things fall through the cracks.

Namely, her husband.

But Jackson barely notices. He’s too busy putting out his own fires. As the new chief inspector of a busy London station, he must salvage the disaster left behind by the former police chief—an obstacle made all the harder when the superintendent breathes an ultimatum down his neck.

Against her father’s advice, Kit takes on a case involving a missing child, one in which she and Jackson become a little too emotionally involved...and end up endangering their own little girl in the process.

Can Kit and Jackson learn that just because they can say yes doesn’t mean they should?

Another thrilling adventure!

I love this series & particularly enjoyed listening to the audiobook version of The Sleuth of Blackfriars Lane. Michelle Griep knows how to write a compelling series and this one in particular is a favorite. I enjoyed seeing Kit & Jackson tackle parenthood while trying to solve mysteries. All the romance and suspense from the previous books are here in this exciting conclusion.

I loved seeing their darling one year old daughter Bella and their domestic life. While Kit struggles with cooking and balancing detective work with motherhood, Jackson’s under pressure in his new role as a chief inspector. When the case of a missing child lures them both into working together again, the twists and turns of the case threaten all they hold dear.

I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. I appreciated the ways she distinguished each of the characters and really brought out their personalities. The emotions were perfect and made this an easy to listen to book.

All the stars for this book and the entire series! Though this book could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the series in order.

Such a descriptive writer

The reader was excellent, and the story line -very interesting all the way through! I love this author for her descriptions of people. She always puts unusual characters in her stories, and there is usually a good lesson about virtue in her writings as well.

Fabulous end to this trilogy

This story is so good - action, adventure, suspense, and a little romance. It’s a very satisfying end to a favorite series. The narration was excellent as well and enjoyable to listen to.

Good but not my favorite of the 3 books

This is my least favorite of the trilogy. Not to say it’s bad or that I disliked it, but there’s only 3 books and it had to fall somewhere. I read all 3 in less than a month. I will miss these characters but I’m glad I got to know them.
