Publisher's summary

The Sirens of Titan is an outrageous romp through space, time, and morality. The richest, most depraved man on Earth, Malachi Constant, is offered a chance to take a space journey to distant worlds with a beautiful woman at his side. Of course there's a catch to the invitation and a prophetic vision about the purpose of human life that only Vonnegut has the courage to tell.

As an added bonus, when you purchase our Audible Modern Vanguard production of Kurt Vonnegut's book, you'll also receive an exclusive Jim Atlas interview. This interview – where James Atlas interviews Gay Talese about the life and work of Kurt Vonnegut – begins as soon as the audiobook ends.

This production is part of our Audible Modern Vanguard line, a collection of important works from groundbreaking authors.

“His best book . . . He dares not only ask the ultimate question about the meaning of life, but to answer it.” ( Esquire)
“Reading Vonnegut is addictive!” ( Commonweal)

Brilliant

Many other reviewers have done justice to this book, singing its praises. I can only second that. It is clever, thoughtful, intelligent, funny and just incredibly well done. Jay Snyder does his usual incredible job as a narrator.

I wanted to note that audible is listing an incorrect narrator at the moment, though I am sure they will fix that. The narrator of this work is Jay Snyder.

Overall, if you like science fiction, you can't go wrong with this.

kurt vonnegut is THE MAN

Anything Kurt Vonnegut writes is perfection and worthy of attention. Loved it, as with all of his books.

Pretty good way to spend 9 hours and 20 min

I’m a fan of Vonnegut but this book didn’t have as many Significant moments for me as some of his other books. Also, it didn’t age very well concerning money which was a bit precious in an awful way. 2 billion dollars just doesn’t seem to be that exclusive anymore.
Jay Snyder is always a joy to listen to. He’s able to manipulate his voice in an audibly interesting way that doesn’t go so far as to be distracting.

Very good read for Vonnegut fans

This book was very entertaining and rather insightful, as most of Vonnegut's books are. I wouldn't rank it among his best, but I still enjoyed it immensely. The last couple chapters of the book sort of lost steam for me and didn't live up to what I was hoping for, but it was a satisfying ending nonetheless.

So...So...

I love Vonnegut but this not one I would recommend to someone who is new to his writings.

Fantastic performance of a great piece of literatu

Most memorable moment: there is the theme of Unk looking for his mate. He gets to her work where she has a bunch of cadets standing with their mouths covered and they're in their underwear. Unk tells her who he is just before being discovered. He realizes that the patrol is going to catch him so he undresses and mimics the cadets that are in the room who are learning how to not use their lungs. He's standing there and he's turning blue in the face and then he passes out.

narrator: this narrator captures the mood in the voice is extremely well.

Exceptional

Vonnegut at his best. Marvelously entertaining, with deep and powerful philosophy- think Camus; it’s like an even more accessible, much funnier version of Camus’ Myth of Sisyphus.

Reader was great, too.

Sirens

Not my favorite Vonnegut, but typical Kurt and the reader's masterful voice switches into the different characters did not disappoint.
